Slowest professor I've ever had. He's okay as far as giving out copies of his lecture outline and detailed study guides, but sitting in his class is unbearable! He spends way too much time on one topic. He also hates using email, he wants students to call his home phone for questions. Take another prof if possible!

Excellent professor who is passionate about his subject. He takes his time explaining each subject. He will go over each homework assignment in detail. His study guides are very thorough and relate directly to the exam. He will tell you how many and which questions from the study guide will be matching, multiple choice, or essay!!! Would take gain!

I took this class during the spring semester and it was very managable. He's a great professor and the class isn't challenging. It is very interesting and you watch some cool movies. There is a midterm, final exam and a paper. The exams are pretty easy because he reviews and gives a study guide. He is EXTREMELY nice and helpful.don't need the book.

he's so adorable. he gets off-topic easily and loves when people ask questions. he's pretty funny most of the time. one of the best teachers i've ever had. it's a very interesting class as well. the tests are easy and he's very eager to help.

Professor Shephard is an excellent teacher. He tells you everything you have to know for the tests, and wants his students to do well. Always asks if anyone has questions. The class itself is tough though, you have to study and really know your material. One of the best at Oakland :)

Brilliant and pretty funny guy sometimes. The class is tough, but not impossible. There is a lot of material and he expects a lot of you but he believes in you, he doesn't overload for sadistic purposes or just for the sake of it. He almost always has a smile on his face too. Take him.

Lectures have a tendency to move very slowly. He spends a lot of time clarifying details using many examples. His tests are fair but are a lot of questions for the time allowed. He drops the first test grade if the next two are higher, which is nice. The class consisted of a total of 3 tests and a paper. Overall it was a good learning experience.

He does care a lot. He is also extremely intelligent. Brilliant even. His exams and quizzes are tough, but fair. If you study hard and follow his study guides you will do just fine. Also KEEP UP WITH THE READING!! There is quite a bit of it.

He tends to go off on tangents, but the man is a genious and a very nice guy. The class was really interesting, even though I was a bit annoyed, as an Anthro major, that I had to learn so much Sociology stuff and so little Anthro stuff. But it's still interesting.

He's a great guy, but is too intelligent for his own good. Sometimes I had a problem following his extensive vocabulary. Beware, if you ask a question-- Expect a 10 minute answer. Gives out his home number, tries so hard to be helpful-- But might lose you.

Such a smart and nice guy, but SOOO BORING! You have to sit through it too...he will glare at you and make a scene if you even get up to go to the bathroom, and if you are going to leave class early you have to tell him and have a good excuse. (most just left at break anyway) You HAVE to read what is assigned and read it well or you will not pass.

Very hard class, but he is extremely helpful. Teacher knows his stuff and is always available for help. You MUST read and keep up with the class lectures, not a class for the lazy- but worth it for those who want to learn.
