Dr. Towsley is the best professor I've ever had. If you have a chance to take a class with him you definitely should do it. He's both brilliant and understanding. If you come to him he will work with you to make sure that you understand the material and do well.

Comment:

This was the second time I had to take Calc 2 at this school and Towsley was the most amazing math professor/teacher I've ever had. If you get under an 80% on a test he lets you do test corrections for points back. However, there is homework due almost every class, he does let you turn it in after class. Overall a very understandable professor.

If you can take a class with Towsley I would highly recommend it. He gives homework every night but it's exactly what we learned in class and very helpful. Review exercises and past years exams are put up for practice before every exam. Towsley tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests and reviews the class before, he is awesome.

Professor Towsley was amazing!! His class was very straight forward. You always knew what was expected of you. The tests were very fair along with the final. He gives nightly, graded homework but I actually liked it because it keeps you on track. 10/10 would recommend taking him as a professor.

Towsley is an amazing professor. He teaches in a manner where it is easy enough to learn and understand what you are learning. We have homework in class everyday from the textbook which is pretty easy. Always a review class before all test and 3 reviews before the final. Even lets you make up points on test if you failed. Must take professor !

Gary Towsley is the smartest man I have ever met. He is a great professor who explains even the most difficult concepts with ease. His office hours are always helpful and he genuinely wants his students to succeed. Take a class with Towsley and you won't regret it.

Literally the nicest guy of all time, all i could think about in his class was how he reminds me of my grandpa. Not sure how he wears the same outfit everyday but he is AMAZING. truly a great guy and there for the students. Easy to do well if you put in an hour or two before tests. Nothing to stress about. A MUST TAKE.

Gary Towsley is a must for any Math Major at Geneseo. Your one goal should be take a class with him, you won't regret it -- I promise. He knows soo much about math and is an extremely lenient professor. Go to his office hours, talk to him, he might even change your view about math. You will see why he was ranked top 50th professor in the nation.

If youre a bio major, you have the option to take this course instead of calc 2. I highly recommend taking this instead of calc 2. Towsley is a great teacher, nice, approachable, and knows what he's talking about. Definitely a manageable class. TAKE.

Towsley is one of the best professors at Geneseo. Took Calc I with him and passed the class with ease. Gives a lot of homework and grades it as well, but it really helps you understand the material. Nicest guy in the world, and easy to talk to. Explains the material well and if you're willing to put in the work, you'll do well. Highly recommend!

Prof. Towsley is one of the best teachers in Geneseo. His lectures were usually interesting and he is always helpful in his office hours. History of Math was a fun and interesting course that should be made mandatory. I learned more math in this class than most other math class I have taken.

Best professor if you want to learn. Honors math covers a lot of stuff and you HAVE to be there but he will make you want to show up. Even if you hate math, you'll learn what you need to and meet a very nice professor along the way. Funny and makes sure his classes know what's going on in the college, just for funsies. Take him if possible!!

Prof. Towsley is a fantastic teacher who genuinely cares about his students. His notes are very straightforward and he is always willing to help you outside of class or give you more time for the homework if you need it. Tests never contain surprises and are not too hard if you study. I would recommend Towsley to every Geneseo Math student.

Wonderful professor. So nice, kindhearted, and one of the best professors the math department has to offer. Notes are extremely clear, and he is always willing to help. Tests are completely straightforward- none of that crap where its 289730 times harder than the homework. Great professor! I wish he taught all my other math classes!!

I am absolutely awful in math and this man was actually able to teach me! Yes, it sucks going to Calc at 8am, but it's worth it for the grade for any math class he teaches. Incredibly helpful and even lets you correct some of your test mistakes after to help boost your grade and understand so you don't fail the final. TAKE HIM!
