George was just one of those people whos lectures never made any sense to me whatsoever (and I wasnt alone). He talked in circles and assigned random things once in awhile that he would grade harshly. His exams are ALL true or false. Explains what is art? Every day, all semester long and I still dont know the answer. Overall, Id avoid him.

This was an interesting class. He is a pretty laid back professor. Try not to skip class because you'll probably be missing a quiz. The tests can be tricky. They are 100 questions, true and false. I think he wants everyone to do well though and gives opportunities to bring bad grades up. Overall his class was fine. He is a pretty good professor.

His lectures are long, boring, and confusing. 1 test (the final), multiple T/F quizes and several writing assignments. Most of the quiz questions were based off things he said in class and the final was multiple choice but really hard and he doesn't give a study guide.

He is scary and very hard. Not very helpful either. I worked my butt of to take really good notes in his class and it paid off because I got an A, but most of my friends failed his class. He uses the most random information on his tests and anything he says in class, even if you think he is going off on a tangent, will most likely be on the test

Hard and confusing class, long boring lectures, very confusing papers and tests are all true/false. If you have a good attendance rate he will bump your grade up about 3 or 4 points. I do not suggest him for this class. Dont even bother trying to take notes because youll get lost and just more confused.

Lectures are boring and difficult to stay awake through. He likes to make people look/feel stupid. Tests were all true false. He says there are no trick questions but many of them are. Instructions on homework/projects unclear. There is no book but lots of online reading assignments.

I'm not an Art Major but I was required to take Philosophy of Art because I am a creative writing minor. Dr. Bailey made the class less boring than it could be. I've taken two philosophy classes and this is as good as its going to get for someone who finds philosophy to be boring. He gives great examples and extremely detailed notes.

The material is useful for anyone in the arts and I respect his perspectives and ways of thinking. However, he does seem to enjoy making you feel stupid or wrong, which deters students from participating in conversation so he kind of just ends up talking AT you. He also tends to ramble and ask over-simplified questions which gets confusing.

One of the most mind numbing courses i've ever taken. I took this class for my creative writing requirement, but this is definitely an art major course. It is really horrible for anyone who does not have an art major back ground. Don't take him if you are not an art major. You spend the entire course answering the same question "What is art?"

This class had made me completely deconstruct what I've figured art was. You will learn to see art through a lot of different lenses/angles. Personally, I'm left having no real idea what art is, or if it even exists, but some GREAT tools that will be helpful on my journey. If you like to think hard and like a challenge, you are in for a treat.

If you are an art major then this course is required so you HAVE to take it. It's very annoying with all the assignments, but it counts as WI!! If you make an A on the final, then you get an A for the course no matter how you did on the rest of the tests or assignments! Just make sure you go to class & do the assignments or he won't do that.

There were three tests through out the semester and ten assignments. He really enjoys what he teaches and he wants you to understand the material, but it is really hard to follow along. He does take attendance everyday. You have to pay attention and study.

Phil of Art- seriously do NOT TAKE THIS GUY unless you really like the topic. He is unorganized, impossible to follow, and the structure of his class is ridiculous. There only test is the final, he just gives take home worksheets the whole time. He has no course outline and refers to himself in 3rd person. who does that. don't take him.

Do not take this class if you are not an art major! I took the class because I'm a PHIL major and was desperate for credits. He rambles about things related to art but not philosophy and caters to the art majors in the room.

He LOVES philosophy and is very passionate about it. His lectures can be interesting but it's hard not to zone out. His tests could be bluebook, multiple choice, T/F, or any combination of these. He tests for a lot that is not in the book, so you have to go to class and take thourough notes.

You Have to concentrate. You HAVE to do the work. You Have to attend class. He is the most careful grader I've ever had. Nothing slips past him. He must work real hard because therre are a lot of us in the course. He is passionate about the subject. If you're a lame student take someone else. But if you want to know philosophy, he's the BOMB!
