Comment:

Dr. Cook is one of the best instructors I've ever encountered. Capable of taking extremely arcane topics and making them straightforward and understandable. Definitely not spoon-feeding or soft-pitching material, but happy to answer questions. I'd take all of my engineering classes from him if I could.

This class easy to understand. Professor is helpful. Exams come from hws and lectures. I would recommend to attend all classes. Reading the books helps 60-70%.

I took the signals and system course with Dr cook. He was also my Senior Design advisor. After GMU I went on to Virginia Tech and UMD and completed a PhD in electrical engineering, Dr Cook remains as one of the best professors I've had during my entire academic track.

Pretty easy class, just be aware there is absolutely no curve whatsoever so try not to screw up on exams. The exams are pretty easy but if you don't have the right answer Cook will take off as many points as possible.

Dr Cook was a great professor for 421. He knows the subject, but more importantly, he knows how to teach the subject. He was also our faculty adviser for senior design. He took a thorough interest in our project and was really helpful.

Dr.Cook is an old school guy. He will make sure he covers topics in a fairly abstract manner, maybe because of the fact that it has been 3 yrs since he last took up teaching this class and he only taught this class this semester b/c the professor originally teaching the class was out on maternity leave Advice: Study Concepts over Text material!!!

Comment:

Good professor. Cook is a nice guy, and an American (for a change). He get upset at the class for not knowing something. But tests are pretty strait forward, no surprises. If you do the HW's and study the class notes/book you should be able to get an A or B.

He knows his stuff. Very easy class, although I kind of fell asleep everytime class went half way. Don't know why. Homeworks assigned are very helpful reviewing for midterm and final. Do them all.

Pretty easy class, mostly because Dr Cook is a very good teacher. The tests progressively became harder and the final was a killer. The class had a very high 1st test average, so Dr Cook suspected something was up. But other than hard..er tests this was an excellent class.
