I didn't read the book or study much and I still got a B+. He's very smart and just loooves astronomy. I think the class gets dull due to the subject matter and not the teacher. You should definiately at least like astronomy before taking the class...otherwise you're going to do poorly.

Thank God his notes were all online! Students are either sleeping or not there. There's SOO much to memorize in this class w/ ridiculous questions on the tests.Class average was 105/208 on the final. trust when i say find another teacher. Smart guy, but horrible teacher

Lectures are boring. On a good day, there are less than 20 people in the class. He is clear and uses powerpoint, which is helpful. But the class moves too fast--30 chapters in 15 weeks. He didn't even give a study guide for the CUMULATIVE final exam. It's not that hard of a class, only if you can stand it and attend class at least once a week

He is a borring, old man who should not be teaching this or any other class. Tests are very hard, and on a good day there are maybe 5 people listening to his lectures. DO NOT PAY HIM TO GIVE YOU A BAD GRADE AND LOWER YOUR GPA.

Good class, but he's very into Astronomy so you should have at least a little interest in the subject before taking him, otherwise you'll be bored to death. Tests were easy b/c he gives sample questions and reiterates which concepts are important.

he was an okay teacher. i learned a lot from him and he was very understanding. i was really sick at the time of the final and couldnt make it and he was generous enough to give me an incomplete and kept in touch with me until i retook the final. unfortunately it was a physics class which sucked if you dont like physics, but he was really nice.

This class was NOT boring. Prof. Dunifer knows his stuff and is very professional and organized in his presentation. It's not an "easy" class but if you read the material and take notes, you can do well. Tests are multiple choice (what more could you want?). I highly recommend this course and Prof. Dunifer.

Gerald "Jerry" Dunifer was by far the most boring prof i've ever had. the exams were hard but he always gave lots of extra credit. I slept everyday and left during the breaks most of the time and still managed an A-. Just read the text and copy down the review he gives at the start of class. Tells corny jokes and loves astronomy a little too much.

Easily the most boring class I have ever taken. The lectures were so not interesting that I only stayed for the whole session several times... and that was because a hot girl sat next to me. I managed a B, but I'd rather stick burning needles through my eyes than take that class again.

He is the most boring teacher I have ever had at Wayne State. His exams are impossible and the questions are ridiculous. His grading scale is so low because his class is sooo hard. I do not recommend this class. It Sucked!

pretty easy grading scale. lectures are terribly boring. you can get away with sleeping in class and leaving early-his notes from the previous lecture are put on an overhead at the beginning of class. tests aren't too bad, if you study your notes and read the book. hopefully he retires soon.....

Class is pretty hard and if you don't read the chapters you'll have a hard time getting a decent grade. Notes are not real clear. He did give extra points on every test my class took. There are no assignments just four test and you can throw away one bad test out of the first three.

The class was SOOOO BORING!!! I could sleep though the whole thing, but if you can stay awake to take the notes in class and study them a bit before the test you should do fine in the class. he curves the grade a bit and offers a bit of extra credit at the end of the term.
