Intimidating first lecture, but is a genuinely nice guy. Go to class and do the reading ahead of time to avoid getting frustrated with the math and symbols. Midterms are fair and right out of lecture. Loved this class - great start to p-chem!

Lectures are kind of unclear and confusing. However, the exams are exactly like the practice exams. Just read the book and do the problems and the practice exams then you'll do well. I only went to 2 lectures and got an A-. Good class!

He is the most boring lecturer, is really mumbly. He seems to know his stuff, but he goes wayyyy too quickly for people to copy stuff down. Tests are fair; but since he's a poor lecturer you really have to read the book.

his lectures are confusing but attend them anyways coz u cant rely only on the book. his practice midterms are almost just like the midterm, same types of questions. his handwriting on the board sucks though!

He's a pretty choice for a chem lecturer. Knows his stuff. Tests are fair. I could think of many worse options. He's VERY willing to answer any questions. I just wish he'd wait until you finish asking the question before he tries to answer it, because he usually guesses wrong. He's solid.

His lectures seemed a little confusing, as long as you stay on top of things like reading the material in the book, and doing the HW you should be fine. Lamar is a very nice guy, except his accent can be a little irritating. The tests itself is really hard, and are different from the practice tests

Keep up with the work and you'll do fairly well. Go to lectures to reinforce concepts. Final was hard because it seemed to be written by LaMar and others, so we weren't fully prepared for it. DO PRACTICE MIDTERMS, they are extremely similar to the real test. Nice prof.

A little hard to understand the concepts that he explains. He doesn't explain things in a way that is easy to understant. He does explain things thouroughly though. Read the book and do practice problems and you'll do fine.

His tests really aren't that hard. I rarely went to class and crammed the night before my tests and managed to do pretty well.

Not that hard if you go to class, do practice midterms and you'll be OK on the actual ones, lectures a bit confusing at times but easy to understand since he's not foreign

He's a pretty good professor compared to the other profs. I had. He's a fast grader and has pretty big curves. I find him to be very confusing at times since he tends to overcomplicate things. Go to workshops to understand the material better.

not very good at explaining things, but his visual examples were very helpful... in terms of tests, they are straight forward and not very difficult. most importantly, he is fairly generous when it comes to curving tests.

Very good professor, he is clear and a really nice guy, easy to approach. Tests are hard but not impossible and review sessions are not helpful unless you have specific problems for him to do. Sometimes he is clearly rushed because of time but he puts in the effort and is at times funny.

Lectures are confusing. If chemistry isn't your thing you'll need outside help. Exams would be easier if he actually made sense in class. Barely went to lecture and pulled a B-

His tests are too hard so it's a good chance that you can cram within the last week and get an A (which is what I did). He's not so clear while speaking, but makes dumb, but funny, chemistry jokes while teaching. But he's probably going to be the most understandable teacher since he isn't foreign.

Lamar is a funny professor. His class isnt too difficult. Just study the materials from the practice midterm. HIs practice midterms are pretty much the same as his midterms.
