He is not clear with what he expects on tests. A LOT of readings and ALWAYS go to class. Be prepared to study for 3 days for a quiz and get an average mark. Very interesting and accessible professor. I enjoyed the class because the material is fascinating, but if you have stress issues do not take him.

Great prof. Very knowledgable and willing to help you if you reach out to him. A lot of reading for a 200 level course but the material is very interesting. I definitely would recommend the course.

A very nice prof and willing to help when you ask, but for a 200-level history course, HIST 219 was hard and very heavily reading based... you can't get away with just going to lecture, in fact the lectures will only give you an idea of what to focus on in readings. tough course, and he's a hard marker too.

Professor Hundert is very knowledgable. He is a very good lecturer (old school though) but very clear. He loves being asked questions. If you ask for help he will help you. Study groups are very popular for his classes.

Nice man but doesn't seem to understand that he is teaching a 200-level course. Assigns hundreds of pages of readings, many of them unclear and abstract, and doesn't make clear what he expects of students on his exams. Unless you're really interested in Jewish history, do not take his class.

I really like Professor Hundert. He's very available to his students, knows an incredible amount about Jewish history and is a very fair marker. Yes he assigns a lot of reading and sometimes goes off on tangents, but he's brilliant. The workload isn't ridiculous.

He is a great man! One of the best and most inspiring professors at McGill. Expect to work hard but expect for that work to be recognized.

He is an extremely interesting and respectable prof. His lectures are unique, cohesive, and informative. He is an extremely fair grader. Hard work is commended and is recognized easily. I got an A in the course by doing the readings, attending all lectures, and visiting him during office hours with regards to my term paper. GREAT course!

The man is an encyclopaedia, in fact he edited one. He lectures for the whole class, and is always saying something important to know. There is a lot of material in the class, and even more if you don't have a Jewish background beforehand. He knows a slacker when he sees one, and you won't get away with it. If you work hard though, you will do well

Very intelligent, soft spoken, but makes up for it with his wit. He's brought back a high standard that is so lacking these days in undergraduate programs!

smarter than you are; go to his office hours-extremely helpful; great if you're willing to do the work (heavy reading); only cancelled hist 207 so much because of jewish holidays (it was a jewish history class...)

Very in-depth, and you learn A LOT, more than any other course I've taken. If you aren't interested or not willing to engage with the material, you will not enjoy being taught by him. He teaches both the content and methods of history, and has a very good (subtle) sense of humour. Very helpful if you ask him.

Harsh-grader while being extremely vague about his expectations, cancels class very often, chosen textbook is not available in North America and has to be ordered on the internet, basically makes you feel like you should've never attended university in the first place, highly inaccessible and somewhat rude. There, I said it.

Talks down to students and makes them feel stupid. Instead of being there to educate, he is there to criticize.Should not be working in an undergraduate program.
