He is AWESOME. This class was easy and extremely enjoyable. Those that didn't learn anything probably didn't bother to. He is flexible and hilarious. Highly Recommended.

Easy A, and you will learn nothing. I found him arrogant and dismissive. Someone should suggest to Dr. Cross that he try to teach rather than make disparaging comments about his students. Then again, I guess he would have to keep up with current research that way.

He is an okay teacher. I go to class just to listen because he's hilarious. The tests are pretty hard if you don't follow in the course pack during class. He is very lenient with things, like attendance. Take him for some good laughs.

I had a great time in this class. Dr.Cross is a smarmy older gentleman that will make you laugh constantly if you pay close enough attention to his lecture. It is filled with sarcasm, dark humor, and insight into the novels. He will however make fun of sleeping students, and is quite often tempted to leave them there after class.

He is very funny. His lecture is boring, and not mandatory to attend. Make sure you read the course pack. Somtimes hell give you the answers to test questions, pretty easy class. Make sure you read the book though, you have to know direct quotes from the book, as well as who said them and to whom they were speaking.

Gilbert Cross is definitely one of my top three favorite professors. He is so entertaining, most days I left with a cramp in my side from laughing so hard, but I still learned a lot more from him that many of my friends learned from other instructors teaching the same class. Definitely take his class if you can.

He is a very interesting person. He is very funny. His class is easy if you follow the coursepack. Don't buy the book though it's pointless.

Dr. Cross was highly entertaining and very interesting. No need to get the text book. Can be difficult to take relevant notes as the stories can loop around course material.

This man is hillarious-- even when the point of his stories is lost on us. I'm glad I got to be in one of his last classes before retirement.

This man brought me back to finish my degree after one of his colleagues had driven me out. After taking Dr. Cross̢۪ Folklore class, I was hooked. I learned more with him than all my other professors combined. I̢۪d highly recommended him for Shakespeare

Cross is fun to listen to and has great information to learn. He is very nice and willing to help out whenever he can or just chat about thoughts on a book. This is the second class I've had and I hope to take at least one more w/him before he retires.

Theatrically misanthropic, occasionally careless, very funny and extremely knowledgable, Gilbert Cross is by far the most entertaining and, in an odd way, the most inspiring professor I know-- and his book was surprisingly good, to boot.

He has forgotten more about children's literature than most people will ever know. New students should be aware that he will say and do anything, but don't rush to judgement. Buy your course pack, sit back and enjoy the ride.
