He thinks he's funny, and still thinks that he has it, and even though he is a really cute old guy he's a horrible professor. Lecture is amusing at times, when he goes off on tangents, but dont take with the hope of learning anything!! ESPECIALLY if you have Jeff Burnell for lab

He is such a bad teacher. My dad teaches biology and tried to help me but even he couldn't understand where Dr. Starks was coming from. He goes off subject all of the time and it's hard to know what information is going to be on the test and what isn't. He's nice and he tries hard to make sense, but he's just way past his prime.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is a horrible teacher, although he is a sweet old guy who does mean well, I think he lost it quite some time ago. He goes off on the most random subjects, and the exams are IMPOSSIBLE. You can study all you want, but it does not matter.

This guy's class was ridiculous, his teaching style is horrible. He goes off on the longest most rambling tangents ever, and his tests are worded really weird. Most of the people in this guy's class would have failed, myself included, had he not used a curve. So now everyone's passing with a D or C. Avoid this one if you can.

This class is hard. The exams are really hard. It gets off topic really easy and talks about stuff that is funny but does not pertain very much with what we are learning. Going to the class is not helpful besides being there when he has attendence checks, if you need the points.

Dr. Starks is old and crazy, but he is awesome. Gives funny examples to relate info to and if you study the book and the little handouts you get, you will do fine on the exams.

Starks is a good guy who is losing his mind to old age. He gave us a final last spring that was a joke. It had pictures that we couldn't make out and diagrams that were completely different than those he provided to study. I met with him the next day and quickly realized that he was as lost as we were. If you have problems, just go talk to him.

I think that he really trys to be a good teacher.. and he is really a funny mad, but if you really wanna learn something then i dont think that this class would be for you. He is off the wall and he moves around on subjects too much. lab is easy but lecture is hard, quizes and tests confusing.

WOW---he is absolutely out of control! He has no way of ever even fathoming to stay on topic! If you want to laugh a lot in class then hey, he is your man, but other than that be prepared to teach yourself and do well in the lab---you are going to need it!

Starks is a crazy, ****ed old man! Although he is funny at times, he is constantly off topic and rarely ever goes over material(other than diagrams)in the book. His tests are as unclear as his lectures too. If you really want to learn something in biology, don't take his class.
