He's a nice guy and very cool but the lectures are long while the power points are boring as hell. The tests are 5050 easy or hard but overall you would have to be super dumb to not pass since he grades really easy.

Where to start with Dr.G...! If you already don't care about Mexicans, this class is NOT for you (because you'll end up a ****). It's ten weeks of "boo-hoo! poor us!" and blowing his own horn with the book he wrote (or put together), which is unintelligible, boring and uninteresting. But it's an easy B or A. DO THE STUDY GUIDE!

Worthless class. Maybe 5 weeks were devoted to history, the rest was him bragging about his weak theses and on migrant migratory patterns. Are they geese? Just pad your papers a little with BS, study for an hour for each test and you will get at least 30 more points then needed for a 4. Don't read the crap texts. Just skim to get the info needed.

Great class shows you what BS we were taught in high school text books! Most people get offended when they hear the truth but its better than being ignorant as many prefer to be. And no you should not feel bad for something you didnt do but if thats how you feel when you hear the truth thats your problem not the professors

Geez what a clown. Can't understand a word he says, posts assignments late, then removes them before the due date. He thinks he is smart, but is obvious that his field is a joke, else he wouldn't have a phd in it. Disorganized, sloppy, incomprehensible, and haven't even started learning about history. Beyond pointless, he should be fired!!!!

Class is useless and stupid. Lectures are boring and lack dirrection. Only interesting day in class was when we had a guest lecturer. To get an A: attend class regularly, BS the assigments (volume is more important that quality), STUDY THE PRCATICE EXAMS!!!!

This class was the worst I've ever taken. The professor lectures about nothing relevent to the class. Very ignorant and uses offensive language. Don't take this class is you enjoy life. He makes you feel bad about stuff you had no control over. He makes me feel dumb because I have a hard time understanding him.

Mainly a class to push his OWN published books. VERY BORING lectures, which aren't even needed. As far as that goes, neither is the class OR the books. Be prepared to sit through hours of Mexican propoganda if you can stand even paying a smidge of attention to it. Come to class, like everyone else says, study the exam guides, and you're set.

worst class i've ever taken. period. the first half of the class is garcia talking about 'the struggle' to get chicano studies taught in American universities.. and you find yourself screaming in your head "OKAY! I GET IT! now WHAT does chicano studies have to teach?!" ... the answer is: nothing. Its just 10 weeks of excuses and propaganda.

Not a bad teacher, but lectures are boring. Read the notes on blackboard to pass the tests. Lots of busy work. Never tells you when there's an assignment due, you have to check blackboard every day, so don't forget. Thinks you should have no questions about work because the answer should be in the syllabus, but it's not. Best day was when he sang.

He is an awsome guy and a good teacher. If you pay attention in class, come to class and do the work you will get an easy 4.0. He offers alot of extra credit but attendence is important. If you just sit there and pay attention its not a bad class. I sat in front and he made it fun for me. I would take him agian. he's a great guy and easy 4.0

If you can't understand people with accents or have not taken spanish, beware. He talks very fast. He is a nice guy, but gives out tons of busy work. My advice, do the busy work and skip the major papers and you will pass with a 4.0, oh but also show up cause he takes attendence.

sometimes he is hard to understand, especially when talking fast. There seems to ba a lok of busy assignments too, overal it is pretty easy and if you do the assignments a read the blackboard notes for the tests you will do fine.
