On top of being a great prof, Dr. Phillips is truly a wonderful person. Her courses demand higher level thinking (no bird courses here!), but she supports and encourages her students all along the way. Her perspectives on our texts were always refreshing and interesting, but she still encouraged independent thought. Her class was a joy to take!

Pretty easy to listen to, I LOVED the subject matter of the course. Sometimes, she saw things (themes, symbols) that made so much sense when she explained them, but that would have gone over my head had I not heard her opinion in lecture.

Great teaching style, and class discussions are awsome! She has the best assignment ideas... although the exam was insane (not hard, just lots of writing). She loves her subject matter and it shows, she's a wonderful teacher. I'm going to miss her next year! Wonderful ideas, and really gets you thinking about the subject.
