I've learned so much in this class, but it moves SUPER fast. Be prepared to spend hours a night on homework, because he'll ask you to translate what you wrote, and if you didn't, he'll take note. He is an amazing professor but overly sarcastic and definitely stays true to the "proud" Israeli stereotype. Tests are always on the material from class

Giore is very caring for his students. My only complaint is that the book heavily relies on Jewish cultural references and geographical contexts without much introduction. Take this class during your first three semesters when you have the time to put into it.

Giore is by far the best professor I have had at WashU. He cares SO much about his students, and is truly a wonderful teacher. His textbook (which he wrote himself) is phenomenal, and the online component is incredible. I learned so much in this class and truly enjoyed every moment of it.

Giore was definitely a highlight of my Wash U experience. Goes to great lengths to help his students and make learning interesting. Just be sure to do your homework, turn it in on time, not miss class without a good excuse, and be prepared to participate - you'll learn to love it, promise!
