Every other course that I have taken at the 300 level have been challenging but fair. This class was unnecessarily difficult. The material itself was not that hard, but the tests were worded in a way that made it more difficult. He's a great guy, super funny with interesting lectures. I won't take another class with him though because RIP to my GPA

Glen is a great guy and puts a lot of enthusiasm into teaching this sometimes abstract subject. The material taught is mostly research studies so being able to understand variables and research data is a must. Tests ARE difficult, but do able if you go to class (you must), and study. Do not take this as an option.

Bodner was great. He could be confusing at times but other than that he was really good. Most of the lectures were based on articles so it could be hard to follow. You NEED to go to class the notes are not posted in full.

Bodner gets a bad rap but I actually enjoyed this class. He has a tendency to make some concepts unnecessarily complicated but I found his lectures enjoyable. This is NOT an easy class though. If you want to do well in this class, you will have to put in the work. Don't skip class or you WONT do well, he doesn't post all slides. Need textbook!

Absolute worst psychology prof at U of C. Disrespectful to students both in person and via email, unwilling to answer questions if he doesn't feel they pertain to him. Terrible tests, doesn't prepare you for the types of questions asked. Overall just lack of care for his students. Avoid Bodner at all costs.

Unprofessional and unprepared for classes. Would read study results directly from his slides and then draw a wrong conclusion. Would vacillate about the right/wrong results. Slides shown in class would not be on D2L slides to review later. He did this throughout the semester. Exams difficult. Majority of students failed the first two exams. I

The reason I wouldn't take a class with Bodner again is because it was SO MUCH WORK to get an A! It's possible, but you need to read the chapters like 3-4 times over and know the class notes INSIDE AND OUT. This class was VERY high level for an undergrad class. He phrases the questions in a tricky way, so if you don't know your stuff you'll bomb.

Bodner's tests were extremely difficult and fairly subjective. I found him to be scatter brained during lectures and found his rants to be confusing/misleading. You must take vigorous notes and understand the research provided inside and out. This class was a gpa killer.

Bodner is a nice guy and is willing to meet outside of class and go over tests with you etc. which is nice to have in a prof. however, his tests are REALLY hard. the averages are always quite low and you have to attend class and read the textbook to pass. liked him as a person but regret taking this class with him because its a gpa killer.

This class is the worst experience I've had at uni. My problem isn't that the tests are hard, it's that they're completely unclear, vaguely worded, and based on arbitrary details from papers he uses as examples. Read the papers, go to class and you'll pass, but the class is still a waste of time.

Bodner is a tough prof. He uses a lot of research studies to back up topics taught in class. Some of the studies can be found in the text, which was helpful. He tests on the application of the results found in the studies/notes/text. His class average was 55% on the second midterm. Must read the text book and thinking about research articles.

Bodner is a good professor, his tests are hard, as the material covered in his class is challenging, but manageable if you work hard. He's entertaining in class and makes a point to try to help all students understand the lecture material. His exams are all MC, but application questions, so the wording can be difficult. A hard class, but worth it.

His exams are extremely challenging as he structures the questions in way that is very confusing. Also, his exams don't really correspond to the material in the textbook and even what is discussed in class. As prof, I found him quite rude as he didnt show respect to his students who asked for help.

Dr. Bodner really tried to engage the students during the lectures. One thing is for sure, he uses a LOT of studies to explain concepts, so if you are not there in class, you have to look up the article and review it yourself. His questions on the exams are very specific and sometimes very tricky. Must read the textbook to pass.

Bodner is a great professor, some may think his classes are hard but as long as you attend lectures you should be doing well. He focuses his tests on both lecture and textbook material. His tests are not the easiest but are also not the hardest. This is because it focuses on applying the knowledge you learn in lecture. He's also pretty funny!

Bodner is a great prof and this is a great class to take to get research experience. He uses his senior level courses to allow student directed learning which I found way more interesting than if this course was passive. Plus you got to do your own research project and get presentation experience. Definitely recommend.

His exams are extremely hard. His lectures do not coincide with the textbook, but he tests on both. He is often unsure of things in class, so he puts off answering student's questions. He's a cool guy but his teaching and testing methods made me want to drop the class everyday. Stay away from Bodner if you want your GPA to get you into grad school.

This course is super interesting and Bodner is funny and helpful. He's an excellent teacher, but you have to be willing to put in the work, go to class and read the textbook. Make sure you review your tests because the final has repeat questions. Overall, I loved this course and the prof as well!
