By far the worst teacher I've ever had. He rambled on about things that had nothing to do with the subject and never showed the slightest intrest in any student. Only 5 students out of 22 got above a C. A weasel and a failer as a teacher.

the key to passing this class is to show up and read all of the material. i got an A and I didnt study, I just attended class and read the books. it was hard though because we had ten novels to read in one semester.

Hands down the best University 101 teacher on campus. Mr Rice is an extremely good-hearted person, and he is willing to help at any time. He is always available and easy to get in touch with, whether he is in his office or sending out weekly class emails.

I hear that in a small class he is better. I hated the TA I had and she blamed everything on Rice which was untrue, she was just horrible. He seems like a good guy, I thought he was funny, and he squints a lot, amybe due to the lights but eh.

Professor Rice is really passionate about English, but he picks too many books to go over in too little time. Plus, the majority of the books he picks out are very boring. His TA's are really nice, but mine graded a little too tough.

Dr. Rices classes are fairly straightforward in their format, the tests come straight from lectures, and there are usually daily reading quizzes. Dr. Rice went way beyond the usual textbook style lectures most profs use. Great class.
