Excellent lecturer. Very good pace for taking notes. Dynamic tone and vocal amplitude maintain a captivating lecture. Good at evoking stimulating debates. Fair Grader and comprehensive evaluator.I wasn't interested in Can. Hist. & took his course because I couldn't get into a PYCH course, I'm glad. Dr.H made me appreciate the importance of history.

Best teacher EVER. Absolutely why I am a history major (thanks, Gord) as he makes history fun, alive, and relevant. I *highly* recommend you take a class from him - can't stress that enough! He only takes attendance for seminars but GO TO CLASS as a) it's fun and b) you'll learn lots and c) you'll do well on the exams. Best teacher EVER.

Before taking this class, my history interest was low. His classes are entertaining, he is passionate about what he is teaching. does yell sometimes but he makes a joke of it. if you attend classes exams are a breeze

He was so amazing! Loved him as a teacher. He was clear, funny, sarcastic, and really interested in his subject. The best teacher I've had so far, I'd LOVE to take his class again sometime. Not a hard marker, and helpful with his comments. His tests are also pretty easy

Gord is a good teacher, very patient and quite funny. Got a little snappy at the end of this semester but he does have to drive up from Victoria every day! Would definitely suggest the class... very interesting! Will be taking HIST 205 next year, can't wait to hear his take on immigration!

Gord does his best to make an uninteresting topic AWESOME. He has a lot of ethusisam and can keep a three hour night class awake. You really have to go to class if you want to do well on the exams! He marks hard on the midterms and easier on the papers. He is one of my favorite history teachers! He has a lot of jokes, very likeable guy.

Gord is hilarious and makes the material as interesting as possible. Pick a paper topic as soon as possible (because of the bibliography, and his other class, you will have to fight for books). He makes you do a presentation in front of the class (the best ones get put onto the final) SO GO TO CLASS!
