While attendance isn't mandatory for this class, I highly recommend you go anyway. Dr. Holbein, while sometimes slightly condescending, is a very inspirational professor and makes you think about your life in a different light. Your grade is based on three exams (one of four is dropped). He will tell you to buy the books, but there's no need to.

Amazing class. Very useful and applicable to real life. Really easy too. Lectures aren't mandatory but you will not regret the things you learn from this guy.

lectures are not mandatory but not absolutely everything is in the notes you can purchase. He drops your lowest test grade. His lectures are a bit dreary but he has some interesting moments. I went to class everyday and easily got an A without taking the final.

Gordon is very narcissistic he quotes himself. You don't ever need to go to class just for review days. I went to one class and cringed the whole time because he has no powerpoints he just talks and you have to write down what he says so he moves very slow. the exams are easy if you're good at memorizing but very specific.

He is a very nice, motivational guy but he tries to trick you on exams. It is a lot of material during lecture and only so little things chosen. He'll tell you what to study for the exam and then will sneak some stuff in there you don't even know. He is the only one that teaches it. so just make the best of it by studying hard.

Easiest class this semester. The most important thing is to buy the Johnny Print notes & GO TO THE REVIEW SESSION. You do that & then study for a day, you will pass. He's fun to listen to, but since attendance wasn't mandatory, rarely anyone went. Download chrome ext. "Read Across the Aisle" for unlimited online passes to the WSJ, you're welcome!

Don't let him talk you into buying either of the textbooks-you don't need them. Just buy the notes from Johnny Print across the street. For the first test, I went to class every day and took meticulous notes and got a B. After that, I just bought the notes, skipped class, and got A's. You can skip the final if you're happy with your first 3 scores.

This class should really be called Quotes 101. I feel like all I did the entire semester was learn quotes from CEO's and one's that Holbein came up with. He does teach some valuable management/life skills and your grade only comes from 4 tests (lowest score dropped). Lectures are torture, but overall he's a decent professor.

Can be interesting to listen to but makes ZERO effort to connect with students on a human level. Just had a death in the family? Forget it, he will NOT let you make up the exam and you'll have to take a zero.

Your grade was based off 3 of your best 4 test. He gives extra credit if you subscribe to a WSJ and read the business articles from the last 5 days and go to class and answer questions ab them. But you don't have to go to class, you just have to buy the notes before the review session and he tells you everything that is going to be on the test.

"Mr. Holbein teaches us to, a good listener, but he is not himself" I suggest you guys to buy the WJS and get that bonus flickers because it really help a lot at the end in case you didn't do so well on the exam. This class should be a very easy A if you truly study and really needs to memorize a lot of the red notes that he sell from Johny Prints.

No homework, he tells you what will be on every test. If you take good notes and study the points he says will be on test you will be fine. If you have an A going in to final you don't have to take it. Lectures can be a little tedious but an easy A in my opinion. He is not boring, and I think he genuinely cares that we are successful in life.

Holbein is really interesting and teaches you a lot of useful material about the real world. Your only grades come from tests and bonus questions, so make sure not to mess those up too bad, but he does drop your lowest score. It's a good class overall.

Holbein is one of the best teachers you can find at UK. He really treats you like an adult and doesn't make you come to class. The tests are really easy, I didn't go to class for half a semester and i got A's on every test.

Holbein is a great professor, probably my favorite. He gives you so many extra credits. It is unreal to not get an A in his class. He is very smart and knows his stuff. Also, he is very useful outside of class and you can ask him anything and he'll try to help you the best he can. He prepares you for life!

This is my favorite class I have ever had in college and one of the few that I feel like actually prepared me for my post-college career. Holbein is a great teacher (though a little conceited). Don't bother buying his book he tries to sell to you; you don't use it.

This is one of few classes you will take where you actually want to pay attention because the information is all real world. Holbein is the man but buy the notes because he doesn't do power point slides. I never went to class and got an A on every exam, he doesn't take attendance and he tells you exactly what will be on the test in the review.

Boring as all get out in lectures so never went to class, which you don't have to attend. However, he owns Johnny Print and at the beginning of the semester says you can go there to buy his notes, so he is basically making a profit off of students. He is also very awkward, but tests are pretty easy but can be tricky. You have to remember notes.

He is SO arrogant. Teaches you information he made up, some of it is useful but mostly is not understanding under any circumstance. Yes he gives extra credit but it is difficult to answer them in the few seconds he gives you. His test material is easily found in the notes but he tries to trick you. Take another prof in the summer. Trust me.
