I agree with most of the general comments that have been made. If you do take this class, be prepared to put in a lot of effort and time. But, you will learn a lot!! He has great real world experience and is pretty hands on, if he knows that you're putting in an honest effort. Great anecdotes. Only wished for more computer classes.

I dropped this class.The entire time he did nothing but put students down, EVERYONE in the whole class.He offered 0 constructive criticism or ideas for improvement.He does have a lot of experience and he knows a lot about the business but he just turns people off to the subject.

He spends too much time telling anecdotal stories about his days in the professional world and not enough time teaching the necessary information. I liked that the assignments were hard and that he required accuracy, they are good real world prep. However, I found he offered no real feedback or suggestions for how to improve.

A rare gem! Extraordinary professional experience to share w/students--listen. Wants students to develop solid basic gr design concepts. Uses 'oldfashioned' assignmnts to help student develop understanding. Sarcastic but funny. Gave specific,clear but tough critiques. VERY LABOR INTENSIVE but priceless lessons. Graphic Design is NOT an easy major.

Dropped this class lost all my money, and had to keep all the tools-wasn't allowed to return it.....but as long as I didn't have to deal with this guy-it was WELL WORTH IT. Changed my major because of him & he made me cry in class! Don't get me wrong, 1 on 1 hes a nice person but other than that.....GOOD LUCK. You'll need it!

His class is intense and you should not take it with anything else too demanding. He expects you to put a lot of thought and effort into your work. Supplies are very expensive (top quality tools=$300-$400). He is a nice guy, but is tough. You WILL LEARN A LOT if you are willing to stick around and listen to him. Loads of professional experience!

Very tough class, but he's a great teacher. always willing to help students, and to meet outside of class hours to go over work. very no-nonsense, gets pissed if people goof off or don't follow directions. be sure to ask any questions you have, and speak up if you're confused. very work intensive, but it will train you to have good design sense!

I thought the class was going to based on computer graphics from the get go. It wasn't. After the first 2 weeks, I could not take the 10+ hours of stupid HW of cutting and pasting circles and lines. Very unclear on assignments. It was tedious and boring. Changed my majors because of it. Do not recommend.

he is a good guy,has experience and helpful. need to spend a lot of time doing homework. but if you like art, you will enjoy it. i learned a lot in this class. the final test is easy. dont need to buy the textbooks. we seldom use them.

Anyone who has a problem with his teaching method, has a problem with criticism and they should really consider doing something else. You can't be a wimp to take his classes or to go into this business. All Graphic design courses are hard no matter where you take them or who is teaching them.
