To sum it up in one word: Abysmal. This prof has no business teaching at any school and is undeserving of the title of professor. If you are thinking of taking any of his courses, don't bother. Final exam is terrible and covers items not covered in class. Lectures are boring at best if you can understand his broken English.

I went into this class worried after reading these reviews, but Hao is a great prof doing his absolute best to teach a relatively dry topic. He clearly cares about his students and his slides are extremely clear. His accent is thick, get over it. He's the most straight forward finance prof in the program and a more than fair marker.

Be prepared to learn everything yourself. The most useless teacher, ever. Don't bother asking for help because he will not give you a direct answer.

Honestly, I would not take this course again. Hao is nice, but his accent is strong and class ended early almost every time. Which was fine, but it didn't help the students learn the material. Midterm was hard, but not terrible. Some of the questions on the final were completely unrelated to material studied in class. Participation counts

Terrible Guy. His lectures are a mess, he's talking about unrelated stuff and then ends the class early without having anything done. His Slides are complete useless, some are opaque some are simply wrong. Long story short: stay away!

Hao is a very nice teacher and if you ask questions in class he will take time to explain things. This is a hard class and he tests from what he teaches in class. Keep his notes and use them. The final is much harder than the midterm! One on one he is not so good with questions. But in class when questioned he is very very good.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. He might as well teach in his native tongue because nobody can understand what he is trying to say.

Hao is the pits as far as teaching goes. He doesn't understand plain and simple english and there are some serious communication barries. If you want to learn finance, take Don Rowlatt's course. Avoid Hao at all costs. He's horrible at explaining things and skips important concept trying to oversimplify things. This makes it even more confusing.

He is a smart guy but there are some serious communication barriers. I would not recommend this course even if you are very interested in investments.

Investments class - once you can understand what he is saying, he still doesn't teach anything well! Nice guy though.
