Comment:
Professor Juli was one of the best and most comical professors I had at Conn. Students got out of the classes what they put in. You couldn't BS with him. He was a man sincerely interested in his students and his subject matter. To some it may has seemed as though he was "talking down" at times, that was just his way of conversing...not intentional.

He's really boring, and not a good grader. His grades are based upon whether he likes you or not. Although I got an A in this class (for which i did NO work!) a friend who worked her butt off and knew the material FAR better than me got only a B. This is typical of Juli. He means well, but as a teacher, he sucks.

I was a major a few years ago. I worked my butt off in intro to arch and did a slam-bang job on the final, on which he gave me a B. The inept girl next to me got an A and hadn't read a single page of the books. Juli is indeed extremely insulting, mean and snooty (calls students "kids") in person.

Too much reading. Very fair grader. He's kind of arrogant and abrupt in his office hours. Takes some time to break through?

Juli is an excellent teacher, he obvioulsy knows a lot about archaeology and the illegal antiquities trade. He is enthusiastic about his course and it definately rubs off. One of my favorite teachers.

Knows his stuff, but makes me feel like I'm 16. Kind of talks down to you at times, and seems to play favorites. Hard grader on papers.

Not a good class for non-majors/minors. There is an insane amount of reading to keep up with. Went to see him to go over a test and he was incredibly insulting, degrading and rude.
