Dr Loewen is the best. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him do not hesitate as I can guarantee you will be a better person for it. The class will not be easy and you will have to work for your grade but it will be worth it. Easily the most approachable professor I have ever had. Really cares and will make time for you.

One of the holy triumvirate of great sociology profs at UW, and the last man standing of that group, Harry is one of the best and brightest instructors at the university. In what can only be described as a toxic work space, he perseveres and provides the last remnants of critical instruction. Exams - fair. Feedback -helpful. Mustachilicious!!!!!!

Loved him as a professor. Very optimistic and helpful. Lectures are a bit dry and there will be A LOT to read. But over all a genuine guy that loves to teach.

The best professor I've had in 3 years at UWinnipeg. His lectures are interesting and his tests, while quite difficult, are straightforward and reward those that prepare diligently. Does not post slides so attendance is mandatory and be prepared to take lots of notes.

Do not miss an opportunity to take a class with Loewen!! One of the most knowledgeable profs I have come across and has a great sense of humour. Lectures can be dry. Keep up with all your readings and you have an easy A my friends. I am a slow test writer and he always waited after class & gave me the time I needed. His patience was so appreciated!

You are missing out if you have not experienced this prof yet. This prof is a definite YES on the list of profs to experience while at the UW. You will not regret it.

Leads very interesting class but its all lecture and limited disscussion. He doesn't know anything about technology... Tons of writing and he expects long exams that require you to study the smallest details. Not an impossible class but don't take if you want an easy grade. Lots of studying!!!!!!

Hardcore. If professors had a gang this dude would be The godfather. Very real. Passionate. A man ahead of his times. A man of this calibre should be in textbooks himself.

I could write a whole paragraph about Loewen, but it wouldn't do him justice. Instead, I will just say he is bar-none the best professor at the University of Winnipeg. Most likely one of the best professors in Canada. It doesn't matter which course he is teaching either. Simply the best and great man on top of it.
