Comment:

Theme of "Issues in East Africa." Course content was very interesting. Instructor was not helpful, hardly gave any feedback, did not return papers on time, and was an unnecessarily harsh grader. If you want to better your research and writing capabilities and get the grade you deserve, take Eng&102 from someone else.

Same as everyone else. She is the laziest teacher ever. She doesn't even teach using a book, she does it through a subscription website that does all the teaching for her. She it utterly unhelpful and the website she promotes as useless as she is. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!

she is the worst teacher i have ever had! she grades veryyyyyy hard doesnt even know what shes grading you get a good grade based on if she likes you or not. so if she doesnt like you you get a low grade. she doesnt communicate well she might as well quit why shes ahead.

The first paper I wrote in this class was decent but according to her it wasnt following instructions and gave me a D. Then she told me I was in danger of failing and that I should drop the class. This was in the third week of the quarter and I had a D. I ended up with a B- just to prove her wrong. Do NOT take her unless it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY

Okay I've always had good grades until I took her class. I was passing throughout the quarter (barely) then at the end I FAILED?!?! She is an impossible grader, and gives wayy to much work. DONT TAKE HER!!

I took her film studies class.. and it was the funnest class ever. she is very clear on what she expects, and very good at going over the material. as long as you read her notes (she posts them on bb), and the chapter summaries, you should pass with an A easy. she is so fun and funny too! GREAT professor... i loved her!

Very unclear on when things are due/what you must do on them. English has always been my best subject (took AP in High School) but failed her class. She takes off a huge amount of points for the smallest of reasons. She is known as the harshest teacher as far as grading. Very unfair.

Hayden is great and fun. She knows a lot. Class is hard but both instructors were helpful. I'll take more of her classes. I wish the class met more often, though. We always felt rushed out the door.

DO NOT take English online with her! Random due dates, you have to constantly be checking blackboard! I have never gotten below a B+ in English...I have a C right now. My first paper I wrote was not at all my best, my second paper I took my time thought I did really well and got a worse score. She does NOT give helpful advice to improve either!

Her grading is completely subjective, so if she doesn't like you for some reason, be prepared for a fight. I'm an A student, she consistently gave me Bs; when I asked for an explanation, she asked me why I was complaining I was getting most of the points. She flat refused to give me an explanation of point deductions she gave on any assignments.
