Professor Hax is an amazing professor. She truly knows the topic very well, and is open to answering any questions we have. There is usually a quiz on the readings each week, but she drops the lowest two test grades. Tests are kind of difficult, but she gives study sessions before each one. 100% recommend!

Comment:

I love Pr. Hax. She keeps up to date with everything happening in and/or around her field so the discussions are always relevant. There is a lot of reading but its mostly current events. If you read or at east use context clues, youll do well on her pop quizzes. Shes very progressive / liberal so if that rubs you the wrong way, dont take her.

Hax is amazing! She is so into her work and teaches to the max. A lot of the class is powerpoints but there is a lot of student input. Tests are easy if you study. Make sure to read all the material before the due date because of pop quizzes. They're easy if you read though. She's funny and cares about the world. Def take her.

Comment:

Sure the class was kinda hard, but honestly, she is such a good teacher. I have learned so much and actually enjoyed learning it. It was a bit confusing but if you ask questions, she will clarify for you.

She's a really great professor. She engages the class and encourages discussions. Make sure you read the required material beforehand because she does give quizzes. She is funny and quirky and has a great personality. The workload is quite light and reasonable, just be sure to study. Attendance isn't required, but it makes sense to go to class.

The topic she covers for TSEM is complex, but she is a wonderful professor! Yes, there are a lot of papers but that is basically what the class is for. You have to work for your grade, so if you put in effort she will know and give you a grade that reflects your effort.

Hax is one of the best professors ive had at towson. If you study and read from the textbook you will be fine. This class does take quite a bit of studying since there is a lot to remember. She gets a bad rep because she's assertive and isnt a push-over.

The class is awesome. Professor Hax knows what she's doing, NOT opinionated. Stays up to date with current news for each topic, never bored during the lecture. Must study for the test and come to class, even though the powerpoints are on blackboard, attendance would boost your final grade... Would take her class again.

Hax is a great professor, you can tell she really cares about what she teaches and she wants her students to know more about what is going on in the world. Her lectures are heavy but if you take good notes and read the assigned readings then you'll do fine. 3 tests and a couple of quizzes.

Hax is backed up by stats and she knows what she's talking about but every single lecture: she puts students down her students and she does not push students to do their best. The density of this course well exceeded a 100 level course, sure thats fine- a good challenge is always nice but we have work hard just to dip our toes into a broad concept.

Professor Hax is really nice as long as you stay on her good side. Hates all phone use and laptop use if she can tell you're on the internet/not using it for class, and she will 100% call you out. Reading quizzes for every chapter and the dates are in the syllabus, however she doesn't remind you which is annoying. Extremely opinionated.

Hax is awesome. Her class is tough and you have to read the textbook but she just makes what youre learning about so interesting. She asks for participation and it really helps you understand what she is talking about. Shes my favorite professor Ive had so far and would totally take a class with her again!!

Prof. Hax is a GREAT professor, however, if you are not interested in globalization, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. It's very difficult to write about something you don't understand. And while she is a very sweet, it's scary to approach her. She does give tons of great feedback on the thousands of papers you right but if you want easy, don't take her TSEM.

shes a good professor and all, i just feel like she goes through the material way too fast. Mostly test and quiz grades so read up on the chapter and extra readings to get easy quiz points. does offer extra credit throughout the semester. she use's the "banking method" style of teaching (she lectures, you listen...)

Boring topic. Definitely do the readings because she gives pop quizzes a lot. Very strict with cell phone/laptop policy, if she sees you even look at your phone she'll call you out for it. Hard grader but she did give a lot of feedback and I feel like this class helped to improve my writing skills

Professor Hax is a nice lady and knows what she's talking about. I didn't really like the subject, but she opened my eyes to a lot of important things. If you put in the effort, you'll get a good grade in this class. You need to read the book and articles, however; she loves pop quizzes.

She's a great person but pretty tough grader! Make sure you re-read your papers. She has online quizzes that are easy just read, and you can do more than the requirement to drop the lowest grade(s). She gives 2 exams, 5 take home quizzes, and 1 paper.

Hax was a great professor and I really learned a lot in her class; she really opened my eyes up to a lot of things going on and especially current events. Was a good class but not a lot of grades so make sure you do well on the assignments you get.

Professor Hax is a nice lady, but grades papers pretty hard. It is for the best ,though, because the class IS to help you improve your writing skills. Very strict laptop and cellphone policy. The topic to me was very boring.

Professor Hax really opened my eyes to a lot of the underlying problems of our society. She is a fair grader and a cool person. Would highly recommend!
