an extremely helpful prof. Loved her class. essays were marked fairly with LOADS of comments which were very helpful. shes one of the best profs. i have had at u of t. I enjoyed her class and the discussions on the course material.

Generally incompetent as a teacher (one time she didn't show up because she 'forgot' she had class at 1) and teaches you high school concepts. Easy marks aplenty, but don't expect to learn much.

She is a rather easy marker, as she expects little from her students. However, the lectures were overly wordy, sleep-inviting, disorganized and severly lacking in useful content - the ones on poetry being the worst. The course itself was pointless - and this instructor made it even more pointless by her choice of boring and vile books for the class reading.

This class is a lot of fun. I could do without the hour of poetry every week, but other than that I have no complaints. Murray is always on time and well organized. Her lectures are interesting and she is very clear. The texts, however, are hit and miss. Some are great, others are incredibly boring.

She was extremely well-prepared and amazingly eloquent about texts across the whole history of literary criticism. Then we switched to talking about contemporary, political stuff and her IQ seemed to drop through the floor. Oh well.

What a great professor. I learned more in this class than in any other English class in my four years, and enjoyed myself the most. I always felt like she was working with me and wanted to see me do well.
