Professor Hosch died in October of 2005. Can't the nasty comments about him go away. For students who cared to learn and study he was a wonderful teacher. God bless him. Times changed but he always cared to teach to high standards.

His class was easy, as long as practiced your German at home or looked over the notes and handouts. He had his own book so you didnt have to buy it. Helped you in his office, he was in almost all times of day. Rest in Peace my friend, to the best foreign language teacher I ever had

Kinda liked the class at first, but then it got REALLY boring. He tells lame jokes and expects you to memorize his hand outs word for word. Grades inconsistantly and harshly. Hates american students and tells us that we are going to lead the US to decline because we all suck.

Hosch is an awsome prof! As long as you go to class, and study, the class in an easy A. He's a very philosophical guy. and if you listen to him (wheter you agree with him or not) you will be forced to think. Not an easy A if you aren't willing to study, but if you are, it's a great class.

Great teacher, great guy. Very interesting and valuable class. If you do the readings and go to class, you will do well. He recognizes what kind of student you are. If you don't do well, it is because you didn't take the class seriously. The class sounds horrible at first, but it really isn't.

Wonderful man who wants all students to do well. He always wants to help you, and encourages students to ask questions if they do not understand. He has a clear grading system, grading your attendance, speaking, writing, listening, etc. skills on a decimal scale of 1-4.

entire class is far to qualitative. If he doesn't like you, or thinks you are not putting in enough effort he will give you bad grades regardless of what you know. If you are a brown noser this is the class for you, otherwise don't take Hosch. For God's sake retire already!

Assignment due dates are ever changing and unclear. Complains for about half of the class b/c kids (he refers to students as kids) today do not work hard enough. Very unwilling to answer questions regarding logistics of class and will make fun of students in class for asking questions. Avoid him!

all he does is complain about how nobody puts in the effort. he usually wastes about 30 mins of class on nonsense. he says he likes to give out A's. he doesn't use grades, he puts a "Gut" on your paper and you can assume you got credit for it. he's not clear. but just pretend you care and u'll do ok
