Comment:
Great professor, gives lots of helpful feedback on writing. The class itself takes a lot of work: reading at least two short stories and writing 3-4 pages of creative writing (prompt-based) per week. Class is discussion-based, so don't take if you are insecure about your writing or don't want peer feedback.

BEST teacher ever. Had her for Creative Writing Poetry. She can seem a bit uninterested but that is not the case. She really helps and simply knows her stuff. The one on one meetings are great because she really understands and helps you with your work. Amazing professor. Dont take this class if you dont have a passion for writing.

I had her for The Holocaust and Modern Genocides. She had us read this book called Austerlitz. Single best novel I have ever written. I do not particularly know where everyone else is getting their impression from, but I must say that my experience was pleasant enough. She expects papers to be written well, which some just cannot accomplish.

horrible. one of the worst teachers i have ever had. she is late to every class, never hands assignments back on time. her opinion is the only right one. she never responds to emails, and wont answer questions if you try to talk to her after class.

I grew to enjoy her more than I thought I would. I'm not sure I could tolerate her if she wasn't teaching with another professor who balanced her out well. She loves literature and thus takes its analysis very seriously. She nit-picks about grammar in papers, so her comments are more critical than helpful.

Levine-Keating is the epitome of incompetence. She's full of herself to say the least, and obsessed to say the most. She is the perfect example of "Having a Doctorate does not make you a Teacher." She fails to understand styles that differ from hers, and doesn't comprehend the simplest of writing concepts. It would be wise to avoid Dr. Divine Ego.

She's really not a good teacher at all. Gives TONS of assignments but never actually graded any of them and gave us bad grades when she did, for no reason. then she tried to correct our final papers and ALL her corrections are spelled wrong. doesnt care about her students. its annoying when you try hard and she gives you bad grades for no reason.

Comment:
This teacher is the worst Lit teacher ever. She is a harsh grader, she makes you read 9 novels a semester and her class is mostly her, talking to herself about how great she thinks the books are. Totally useless and hard, not to mention she is really pretentious. Avoid her, seriously, it's a lot of homework for nothing, waste of time and money.

I feel like all the below comments are Levine-Keating trying to make you believe she's some great teacher. I'll tell you something. English is my passion and was going to be my major, until I took her. She really killed it for me. If you don't want a professor who chooses favorites off the bat and holds grudges against others, don't take her class.

I have Levine-Keating in "The Holocaust and Modern Genocides" Learning Community. She is helpful, but her interpretations of the literary material we read seems a little vague and too similar in context. There always seems to be something I found interesting or importantin a reading that she fails to hit upon, which is sometimes discouraging

At first I was intimidated by this class (Creative Writing: Fiction), but she really makes the room a comfortable place to put your writing out there. She is really helpful, really knowledgeable, and really inspiring. I would love to take her again. She's really chill and truly wants her students to learn.

Inspirational professor. Gets you interested and helps you to understand in your own way. A lot of work, but it pays in the end. I got a solid grade, and found in her a mentor. Wonderful experience. Amazing professor/person. She won't be nice to you if you slack off or try to take advantage. Is that really such a horrible thing?

I really like this Professor! She is understanding, and always answered my questions. She is really interested in her students writing, and I thought she was very useful with her comments and feedback. I would love to take her again. She wasn't ever late when I was there, and would always stick around to answer questions. She also brought pizza!
