A great prof. Really into the material and ready to discuss any subject. Some people say he pushes beliefs onto students, not true. He teaches people varying beliefs and the basic components of philosophy. There's a difference. If you pay attention and understand what's going on, the tests shouldn't be hard.

earlier comment said not to take the class if youre "set in your ways" I consider myself to be very openminded when it comes to profs, but wuertz is unreasonable and full of himself. his tests are on his lectures, barely anything is from what you read, and his lectures are confusing. I asked him for help once and he was disrespectful and demeaning

Do not take this teacher. He is a nice guy and tries, but does not explain well and is often all over the place with his lectures. No one in the class knew what was going on for the first 1/2 of the semester. His tests are essays which he doesnt help you study for at all.

He is a nice guy but gets very off topic and is hard to follow. His policy of dropping the lowest test grade is helpful unless they are all low. If you do well on the first three, you can skip your final and drop that grade. Very strict on grading tests though. You need to have exactly what he wants to get a good grade.

He is such a nice guy. He really trys to get you into the subject and get you interested. Overall, a nice guy to talk to but the class is hard. My biggest problem is his tests, because if you don't say exactly what he wants, you do bad on the tests. He is there for you, you just have to ask questions; its pretty much a must.

i think its really funny how you either love him or hate him, i think he's a great teacher, and he's very smart. but his tests are impossible. he doesn't just ask about the material, he makes you apply it. his attendence policy is rough. and if you're set in your views then you're going to hate him.

He is a very smart man and definitely knows what he is talking about. He explains well, but if you are not interested in the topic it will seem boring to you. Tests aren't hard if you paid attention, its obvious what will be on them. Although its confusing how he grades...He drops the lowest test.

I think he must be the worst Philosophy professor at Marist. 16 people failed the first test. He doesn't explain what he is looking for on the tests. During class, he asks us questions and if you answer he will force you to contradict yourself or say what he wants to hear.

his class is alright but he grades hard as hell. his attendance policy also sucks...you can only miss 2 classes without penalty. not a good 8am class, take it with someone else.
