Professor Fils-Aime makes time fly in this class by long, interesting, group discussions with anything related to life or the material we are learning. She's an okay grader on essays but lets you re-do all of them for a better grade. Would def have her as a professor again!

This is to date the only teacher at NYIT that I loathed enough to withdraw from. First paper was graded tougher than it needed to be. Second paper you could choose from two topics: a supernatural experience or a religious one. I've had neither and felt that such a choice was unrealistic. Dropped her class and never took her for English again.

Yes, she will let you do rewrites, but she grades very subjectively. Thought my papers covered criteria very well, but alas, she obviously did not. I couldn't figure out what she was looking for. Lots of reading! If you have another option, take it.

You will read a lot of very short stories and get a 1-3 question quiz on them all (a story and quiz everyday). if you read youll do fine. there not hard just annoying. also 5 essays through the semester with a chance to redo them all. fair grader. not a real hard class. do your work and youll be fine
