A great professor! The comments below lead me to believe that she sets hard tests, but the course I took with her was all research/writing based. She was very caring and inspirational! Absolutely would take another class.

I have taken a few of Prof Wardlow's courses. She is an EXCELLENT lecturer (very clear with theory) and her readings focus more on the applied than the theoretical. a good listen and seminar leader. very highly recommended. funny too.

I really wish Holly could apply Gender theory to people other than the Huli. Not every example of violence, oppression or empowerment happens outside of North America. Also, she lectures up to the last minute and does not adequately prepare students for test. She seems socially obtuse as well. Sad really - don't take this course with her.

I thought her lectures were fantastic, entertaining, and informative. The reading load was heavy enough. My biggest complaint is that her emphasis was on the wrong points during lectures and as a result -- although I studied hard, her test was not reflective of this at all -- her half of the class dragged my mark DOWN!!

Her tests do not line up with lecture. All she talked about was her research and not a single question on the exam was on her research. Also, she talks about influential anthropologists and then doesn't test on those. She has quite the high and might attitude as well

She went over the important material too quickly and spent ages on the unimportant details of her own Papua New Guinean research. Expected a very rigid set of answers on the exam, including specifics that aren't suggested in the wording of the question. Crazy difficult, and a little self important.

There was a lot of work given in this class and a ton of readings. But it was extremely interesting and Prof Wardlow was very good at encouraging discussion. I'd take another of her classes!

She's so horrible, I dropped the course and decided to drop my entire anthropology minor too. They should change the course name to "Intro to Papau New Guineau". Avoid her!

I'm not completely through the class yet, but overall it's interesting. I feel all that's needed for lectures is the slides. Tutorials seem pretty helpful to me in terms of discussing the course readings. I do think she needs more diverse examples than just focusing on PNG, but nonetheless, hearing about it is interesting.

Horrible prof, reades from notes word for word so VERY boring. VERY hard midterm, final is easier. TA's suck, and don't know how to mark properly. Tutorials useless. Lots of films. Talks too much about Papua New Guinea. Very boring, and cold as a person. Don't take her courses!

Terrible teacher. Didn't prep class for any exams, had T.A who marked half of the exams incorrectly, and then refused to meet with students to discuss. Lectures were tedious and often redundant. Will be sure not to take any more classes with this prof.

Wardlow was a good lecturer but the textbook and readings for 2005-06 were awful. Some of the films were great. The tests were difficult and tutorials were too big.

Her lectures were fairly useless, you can seriously tune out for 10 min. and find you missed nothing. On the plus side, I now know everything about Papua New Guinea. She needs more diverse examples. Hard course? Come on! I did next to no work, just studied for the tests and still got a good mark. She told us what the exam essay topic would be on!

A really nice person. Yes, she should have posted her lecture notes on th internet and the tests did tend to be a bit hard, but her lectures were really interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
