Caram is a very nice man, but he needs to retire as he is not a good thermodynamics professor. The class is very hard and almost impossible to study for as not all homework was returned and the text book answers are not anywhere online. The tests are open book, and the class average for the final was a 46.

One of the nicest professors I have had during my Lehigh career. That being said, he couldn't be more useless as a thermodynamics professor. You learn nothing and the exams are a competition to see who can copy more equations out of the textbook. Exam averages are typically 20-50%.

He is a very nice man and means well. That being said, I learned close to nothing in his class. I went to every lecture but he doesn't explain what he is deriving, writes in chicken scratch and has a thick accent. I can't tell you the first thing about thermodynamics

Caram really is the nicest professor I've had. A sweet old man but totally incomprehensible. Thermo is ridiculous and it didn't help that he talked to the board most the lecture. If you ever want to chat about your life, he's the professor to turn to. Unfortunately if it's about Thermo don't expect to get a straight answer.

Professor Caram is one of the nicest professors I have encountered at Lehigh. It is expected that you spend a lot of time outside of class reading through the book and working out problems in order to understand the material, and that really is the only possible way. Exams are very tough, but fair. Average on Exam 2 was a 30/105.

He is the smartest and the sweetest professor I ever had! Doesn't judge you by grades but by your effort. Go to office hrs - he WILL help you. Harsh grading has nothing to do with him - it's TAs. You can learn so much from him not just thermo but life; it's due to his help i'm in a grad school now and it was the best decision ever.

Chem 97 is by far the WORST class you will take at Lehigh. Professor Caram is a very nice man, but his tests are completely different than the homework problems. If you normally take the 9:00 lecture, take the exam at the 11:00 time, and ask someone for the content of the exam. This will give you an

One of the nicest, smartest, and most helpful professors that Lehigh has to offer... and a laugh-a-minute to boot. A breathing book of knowledge. Those of you that find him difficult, confusing, and unfair are either too unwilling or too stupid to learn from him.

Probably the smartest guy at Lehigh. Unbelievably brilliant. Went to the best Chemical Engineering School in the Country. His class is terribly difficult and avgs are in the 30s for Thermo exams. Nicest man in the world and EXTREMELY helpful. Don't expect to be able to do one problem on his exams.

SO difficult to understand! He's a nice, intelligent guy, but it feels like he pulls equations out of no where. He's lectures do NOT conicide with Chem 95, his homeworks do NOT conincide with his lecutres (NOTE: Really harsh grading too). And his exam problems do NOT match his sample exams.

Bottom line, he's a great guy, but he can't teach. He's just one of those socially inept teachers who are geniuses but just can’t get their point across. Be prepared to spend a lot of time in his office hours. Bring a translator, ‘cause you can barely hear him to begin with
