Great prof. The novelty of having a British lecturer definitely made macro more interesting - he's very engaging and taught the subject well. Be prepared to do some work outside of class! Macro is very dense, his lecture slides alone won't prepare you for the exams. If there's ever a class to get the textbook for, this would be it.

Huw is a really great personality to have in a lecture hall! Although he can explain things a bit convoluted at times, he genuinely cares for his students and wants them to do well. His Welsh wit kept the class entertained throughout the entire semester. The assignments were long but the course is definitely fair.

Pretty easy elective for Econ students. The group projects were brutal as group projects tend to be. A lot of material is covered throughout the year and you are expected to throw it all back up on your final. Great prof take it as an elective if youre in econ

the course material was fairly easy for econ students, but the final could have anything on it. sometimes he got caught up overexplaining things to ppl taking it as an elective and lost them even more.

One of the best profs in the Economics department. The material can be very challenging at times (eg: RBC Model), but he is an incredibly clear, and helpful teacher. Assignments are very very very long and arduous, but putting extra work into them will render the exams a cinch.

Not only a good prof, but a genuinely nice guy. You need to struggle a bit to get through his lectures, but that's only because he expects so much of you. You come out of his course with a thorough appreciation of macroeconomics.

Had Huw for Development Economics. Course material was fairly simple for an economics student. Course was well organized, but lectures could be a bit drawn out and boring. Overall, a good course by a good prof.
