show up ontime, study the textbook with a fine toothcomb, stay on top of readings, figure everything out on your own (its self-study) and make sure u hand everything in! extremely rigid and unsympathetic but u'll do fine if u study. i didn't hand in a hwk worth 6% and wound up with a B- instead of an A- or A. dangit.

I really enjoyed Ian, he is a good teacher. You have to make sure you listen carefully to his notes and write down everything he says. If not you will miss important things that aren't in the textbook. I attended lecture and labs, PAID ATTENTION, didn't read much of the textbook and got an A. I like his teaching style.

IAN JOYCE is an excellent prof. Informative, fair, straight forward and concise. You idiotic students that give Joyce bad ratings are fools. The only reason why you mark him harshly is because you got a crappy grade in his class for being lazy. I got a B+< in all his courses. Just go to all the lectures, labs and field trips and you're good!

You don't have to take my word it. Just look at the rest of the feedbacks. If you go into his class, don't expect any of lectures to be understandable and he WILL NOT help you, ever. Instead, he'll tell you go to see the lab teacher. Selfish, rude, arrogant, grumpy,and unhappy....that pretty much sums up what this guy is like.

Couldn't follow his teaching style + course was way too heavy for me, i was justs taking it to get my lab science but ended up withdawing. i think he must be tired of having people in his classes that just want a lab science because I found him not very helpful when I would ask for help. Terrible! Can't even teach! He doesn't care or answer student's questions; very unorganize and poor notes. Exams on mapping were confusing, MC were on minor details that he never taught in class. Reading the textbook is so necessary for his exam in order to do good. Just don't expect any sorta help from him, take his course if and only if no choice
