Comment:
This prof was passionate about the material, which always helps. Lectures seemed to go rather long and he does get somewhat sidetracked. He does expect you to know the material and will not super basic questions but questions with some depth. However it is not a heavy workload and if you go to class and know the material you will get at least a B.

Keay is an excellent lecturer. He turned what I thought would be a boring class into one of my most interesting classes and has a great way of adding humour and real-life relations to his material, making it more interesting. That being said, his tests were pretty tough and only 1 student out of 140 in Winter2015 got an A+ overall. Great guy though

Funny guy. Dull course. Notes are extremely good...if you didn't fall asleep. After all, it is a History course.

Very helpful and funny. For answers to his assignments, go to his office and ask him - he practically spells it out for you.

An excellent prof! Great sense of humor, very clear teaching and easy exams. He curves up your mark a lot if you screwed up the midterm but do well in the final.

Great Material - his position has gone to his Head. Major paper: TA gave it 85, I received it back with 8 turned into 7 by Keay - his initial. When asked why he changed it he said he didn't and that the paper deserved what it got. Only not a single mark was seen on the paper and he refused to commment. How is that for student interaction???

A good prof who presents material clearly and makes classes enjoyable. But, having had him for two classes, he needs to work on being more concise and trimming down the reading lists as many readings are pointless or useless. Makes econ history bearable.

One of the best profs I've ever had... summarizes past lectures and repeats important concepts so you've got plenty of notes come midterms/finals. Lecture notes are priceless- class may not be the most interesting ever, but he presents material in a way in which you'll understand.

Good guy, but always bring coffee to his class. He repeats everything over and over again. Don't be surprised to only have one or two pages of notes for some lectures. That said, boring as they may be, GO TO THE LECTURES. Those few notes are all you need.

Initially took course because of availablity and timetabling constraints. Keay presents material concisely and well, and genuinely likes teaching. Was very flexible in allowing me the option of rescheduling the midterm because of a recruitment conflict
