Great lecturer. Gives plenty of in-class time to work on assignments and group projects. Very forgiving with late assignments (within reason).

Definitely one my favourite profs at UBC so far. He really inspired me to research topics outside of class and he's a great lecturer. His online slides and notes aren't the best, but as long as you show up to class and pay attention, you will have no problem doing well! (PS the lab portion is a definite gpa booster)

Great prof. Loves what he does so he's an enthusiastic teacher and cares about your comprehension. You wont absolutely have to go to class, but you'll want to go. Tests are fair.

Wonderful prof. Interesting lectures, sometime confusing, but overall, he is really good. From New Zealand, but sounds like a British.

Ian is an awesome clear-cut prof. Although some of the concepts are hard to grasp he presents them in a way that makes it easier. Probably one of the best professors I have ever had. He also makes it very obvious what he expects you to know for the exams, study and you will do well.

Probably one of the best profs I've had at UBC, especially in the geo department. He's from New Zealand and is very hilarious, but his accent doesn't distract. Such a good teacher that I found myself finally understanding concepts from previous years that I never got. Great prof, very good teacher.

Such a good prof - super passionate but not so much that he goes on wild tangents and loses track! Very knowledgable about Vancouver-related issues and putting those into a global context. Fair exams, not too difficult if you studied. Very helpful outside of class as well, just a great guy in general. Take him if you can!

This course will be Geog 311 in the new terms. Ian's lectures are clear and effective. However on the exam you're supposed to write a lot of extra stuff, otherwise no marks will be given. Don't take this course with the other instructor...

class was not brutal, dr. mckendry kept things as lively as possible. GEOG 200 is not difficult, but not as simple as you would think. having geography from high school helped quite a bit on the final. mckendry's notes leave a lot to be desired... they LOOK good, but there are too many pictures and not enough clear explanation. overall, alright

Great Prof! Lectures are actually enjoyable because Dr. McKendry has a great sense of humour and very engaging style. The textbook is written in a very easy-to-understand way, and the computer tutorials that come along with it are really helpful! If you attend class and pay attention, it's easy to get an A!

Very good Geography Instructor, considering the pretty dry and mathematical nature of the course. Lecture notes are sufficient for the course.

My gosh! His notes are horrible. They are not clear, and do not prepare you for the midterms. I had to look up so many definitions because he never laid them out properly
