The prof seemed to be somewhat uneducated on his topics and was reliant on his powerpoints for clarity. It was tough to understand him during lectures, and I was disappointed that the class was not given a professor review. The most frustrating aspect was that 75% of the exam material did not come from his lectures, making it difficult to do well.

I never understood what he was saying, so I never went to lectures. His grammar on tests is awful, so it's very hard to understand what he is asking you, especially on true/false questions.

Dr. Al Aasm is a very unique prof. He doesn't put forth as much effort as others, but he still knows his stuff. He's glad to take time to help eager students, and although the lecture material can be uninteresting at times, he is there to help you get through it. Overall, I didn't do too well (B-) in his class, but I still appreciate his effort.

i found this class to be very interesting and the prof presented the material in a way that made sense. all those people that are complaining probably didn't pay attention or read the text. he was very fair and tested on material covered in class. i found him to be a fair proff.

I would not reccomend this class to anyone. He gave us an assignment to do and the instructions made no sense at all. The two weeks before the assignment was due he took off to Europe or something and didn't respond to any email questions about the assignment sent by students. I was lost...

Blaaaahhhh!!! I HATE this class!!! Honestly, if he ever tries to say he spends a lot of time preparing for classes, send him my way. For anyone who takes this in the future, don't worry about missing classes. He offers NOTHING in his lectures. He goes pretty much word by word from the text book.

Head of the Earth Science department. Inflated ego, likes to hear himself talk during a conversation. If you can, choose a more dedicated prof.
