Ingrid was a superstar. Her course was not my first choice, but I'm grateful for having taken it - as she propelled my interests in literature in general. She was willing to meet outside of class, was attentive, caring, and handled the class setting extremely well. She had our undivided attention. A wonderful woman who I miss learning from.

Comment:

Took her class 4 years ago and I still find myself wishing I could take another class with her! She is extremely inspiring, knowledgable, and funny. Such a cool lady. She really opened up my eyes to the world we live in. And her enthusiasm for the novels has inspired me to write my own. Thank you Ingrid--you're wonderful!

Took classes back in '92. Ingrid and Nancy Bjeering gave me an academic introduction to something I already loved less formally. They also introduced me to the likes of Borgés, Frye, Doris Lessing, Cortazar and others. She had an interesting teaching style. Priceless!

Had Ingrid for Film Crit and Sci Fi / Fantasy. Few teachers are as patient, insightful, or entertaining as Ingrid. Flexible with assignments (she actually wants you to learn/succeed) and is a helpful marker (watch your GRAMMAR on essays). Puts a lot of prep time into lectures/slides. Textbook for Film Crit 1 was the only film text worth buying.

Ingrid is a fantastic teacher. Her classes are always interesting, it is a shame they are only an hour long. It is also a shame that she doesn't teach second year in the photography program. Read the textbook chapters before tests and make study notes! Her tests can be difficult!
