Horrible! Just plain horrible! I used to love learning German before I took a class from her, she tries to explain complex grammar in German and refuses to explain things in Enlish even when the entire class has no idea what she is saying. I believe immersion is great, but she rambles in German that is much too complex for 202 students.

She's tough, but definatly not the most horrible professor in the world. She speaks in german almost the entire time, and can be intimidating, but usually if you approach her she'll answer your questions pretty well. Also theres almost always a test or quiz, or sometimes both, every week

Hands down my worst professor ever. Teachers a 102 class in nothing but fluent, conversational german, so learning is damn near impossible. Very condecending to students with question. An awful teacher who doesn't realize when students are lost. Expects a 102-level class to have a 300-level grasp of German grammar and vocabulary. Never take her.

Interesting class. She is a good teacher, but doesn't explain many things in English, so that makes it tricky. Worked from a book (Berliner Platz 2) with no English directions also. Recommend, but a little challenging.

Teaches hard concepts well trying to make it fun but you have to be in class as it moves fast as is all in germ. She doesnt expect you to understand it all she just wants a genuine effort and she really will take it into consideration. I never took germ or did i study abroad but i went to every lecture and could recog words and phrases and it helps

Lazda is really nice, and she seems to really care how well you do in her class. I found that the way she taught some things was really hard to understand, but if you need clarification, she is happy to help. If you don't make decent effort in that class, you probably won't do well.

she shows no signs of caring. i have gone in for extra help on numerous occasions, and every time she basically pointed out how dumb i was. she told me i could do extra work to boost my grade up, and when i did it she said she wouldnt except it because it would obviously reflect on my test score...which it didnt b/c it had nothign to do with it.

Under the assumption that everyone has either studyied abroad for the last 3 years or took 5 years of Deutsch in high school. Anyone with no recent German classes will quickly be left in the dust as she hastily begins semester with ample homework and a condescending demeanor, neither of which lend themselves well to fluency in the language.

Listen, I also took 102 with Lazda and hated basically every minute of it, but you have to realize that if you're going to spell "recommend" incorrectly in English, you don't have much place complaining about Lazda giving you too much German homework. You probably need it. She's got her stuff together, but not the greatest instructor.

She's very nice, but not a very good professor. She doesn't answer the ?'s you ask, and she speaks German the WHOLE time. I know it's German class, but it's not upper level German. I did well in her class, but I worked pretty hard. Her tests are also pretty hard too. Lots of studying for her class.

Frau Lazda is nice, and for the most part helpful. She doesnt explain things very well but I have no doubt she is a very intelligent person and knows what she's talking about. I dont know if i would recomend her as a professor but she really does care about her students- shes good for advice.
