I love Dr. Maini and her teaching style. You will read a lot of novels in the course but her selections are great. She is a tough grader but she gives you the grade you deserve. She may seem a bit intimidating but deep down she is a nice professor.

Unhelpful and instead of helping she criticizes a lot. She thinks everyone will accept her disrespect but I could not take it. I expected to learn and be helped for my future not criticized and left alone the whole semester. Expect to read a novel a week and write essays on them every week.

She is very rude and useless. If she does not like you, she will not help you much. She expects you to read a whole book in just one week. She makes us read a book every week. She does not understand that her class is not the only class students are in. WE have homework for other classes as well. She is too uptight.

She is a very HARD teacher. She expects students to be just like her and write in perfect English. Whenever you go for confrences she makes you feel stupid because her RED ink is all over the paper. I agree with some of the other students...NOTHING IS EVER GOOD FOR HER!!! I don't advise students to take her for EC2 or any English class for that matter.

I had Maini for Modern and Contemporary Lit. and Post-colonial Narrative and I would have taken her again if she was teaching a class that I needed. She is an excellent professor who chooses the most interesting reading selections. Don't be fooled, she does give alot of work and expects you to be prepared. You have to do the work to get an A.

Professor Maini is a wonderful, sweet woman. She is not hard at all in the summer. The books were very interesting, very diverse. She only gives 3 assignments (2 essays on mid term) Final (same as mid term) and one project! The course is simple, yet you do learn a lot, without the work load killing you. A MUST TAKE!
