Comment:

Don't let looks deceive you. He may be old and have a monotonous voice, but he is an amazing professor! He challenges you to change your political views, and wants to truly teach you things about government for your future. Lots of reading and his tests can be difficult though.

A friendly interesting person with a great choice of movies = Flim Fantic.. But when it comes to classwork i don't know if its just me but he keep rumbling on and puts people to sleep I always had to wake my friend next to me.. But if you're taking a 100 level class with him please save yourself its alot of work. Btw hes a terrible grader.

Very nice! You have to read 8 books and write 5 out of 8 essays. Pretty simple, once you figure out his style. The trick is to listen to what he talks about when introducing a book and write it down! Not hard, the whole class is just discussions, and he loves when you participate and have an opinion. Not a class for those who hate essays, though.

Super boring teacher. read 10 books for class and do 5 essays. He is a hard grader in that he looks for s/t very specific and doesnt want anything but that. The only positive aspect is that you dont have to come to class and there are no surprises. He is not helpful at all and makes even interesting topics boring. Do not take him!!!!

he's pretty open minded, and very open to strong opinions especially. you have to read a book a week and write 5 3pg papers over the semester but is something you get used to after awhile, although it sounds & seems like alot of work, its very reasonable and the class is pretty interesting as long you're willing to participate in discussions

Okay Guy...He's nice and gives you like exactly what he wants. He gives you what the questions on the midterm and final are so when he starts to say "the question will be like...." copy it down! one op paper and one mantadatory try to read all the books. Go to class so u don't miss what he says about the books and the movie!

Excel prof. Fair grader. Altho he makes it seem as tho his tests are hard, they are not. He also picks good movies to watch for class. The once a week, 2 hr 40 min class might make u skeptical but all in all it's not bad at all. I def. recommend him!

Prof. Markovitz is very nice and smart. His classe is easy and he is very understanding. A midterm, a paper and a final. He gives extra credit. He assigns 10 books, but you don't need to read all of them. I highly recomend him. He is a very smart professor.

Prof. Markovitz is an amazing teacher! I took him for Pol. 101 as an FYI class, just trying to fill up my schedule and I loved that class -- so I took 383W as an upper freshmen, it was challenge, but the class was always interesting and I gained so much knowledge. His class is st I will remember forever. Best PROF! P.S. I am now minioring in PSCI!

I'm not a political science major but I really enjoyed the class, & made me consider it as a minor. There's a bunch of readings but theyre interesting for the most part & will expose you points of views to all sides of an argument. He's a very nice man as well, & gives extra credit. Good class

Yes, you do have to read a book a week, but he is an amazing Prof. I learned so much from his class. As a result, I am for sure taking him next semester. NO TESTS, 5 (3 page papers), easy A, amazing Prof. I don't know why everyone is taking him.
