This class is interesting because he is very unclear and tests are impossible, but he's so funny and nice that he has everyones respect. I finished with a B+ after nearly failing the first two exams because of his extra credit weekly homeworks. Its like he knows his exams suck. But I recommend him OVER THE OTHER PROFESSORS. He's the benef. of doubt

Comment:

Ismat is a cool guy who really wants you to learn while also getting a good grade. His lectures can get kind of boring but he likes to crack jokes and he is a genuinely good person. Go to him if you need help. He also curves the class around the average and started offering extra credit this year (+10%) for completing risk-free online quizzes.

Professor Shah is a great man. He is very passionate about what he teachers and is one of the smartest people I know. As long as you go to class, it is very hard to not do well. He is very understanding and easy to work with. There is a lot more reading in this class than there is physics, and the readings are required.

Ismat, as he prefers to be called, is a wonderful man that really cares about ethics and equity. Participate, read the book, and write down just about everything he says. The tests were curved and the final wasn't cumulative, which was such a relief. Don't take this class if you are a climate change denier.

Ismat is one of the best professors at UD. I went on study abroad with him to take this course in Italy and I couldn't be more happy that I did. He was extremely helpful and having this class with only 17 other people was a plus. His lectures are pretty clear and never puts material he doesn't cover on exams. I recommend him for any semester.

good teacher, you dont need the textbook at all. quizes are really hard so make sure you study but they are based off of the powerpoints. GO TO CLASS AND PARTICIPATE!!! it will save your grade

Really passionate about students understanding rather than memorizing. Attendance isn't mandatory but extremely helpful for getting a feel for questions on exams. Take advantage of review sessions and online chat sessions! Shah is a great prof who can be extremely dry but also crack some jokes to liven up the room.

Shah is a great professor who loves his Job. He's not always the best at explaining things, but he will literally never say die until his students understand the material. Tests aren't the easiest, but the class really isn't bad. Great guy!

freaking adorable and halarious! love him! it's a very interesting class, but also controversal. He has a passion for the environment and consantly discusses ways to improve it.... there are no midterns, finals, exams of any kind! Only quizzes! easy class :]

The class was really easy as long as you show up. The classes are all powerpoint presentations and they are all put on webCT. He also puts a major curve on the final grade. At the end of each class he has a open discussion on moral issues regarding physical science. Really interesting class
