Comment:
Class is really boring. His lectures are filled with material he never really tests you about. He posts overview notes for each lecture which is useful in filtering out all the unnecessary info he details. MT marking is very strict and if you don't word your answers properly, you won't even get partial marks.

Lectures were among the most scattered that I've encountered. It was very difficult to follow any concrete train of thought and you get bogged down with concepts that he turns out to not evaluate you on. Its disappointing to have poor lectures.

A LOT of material was presented. I liked how he had separate notes, which clarified the slides. He has a very laid back style of teaching.

Very fair professor. There was a tonne of material to learn, but all of the profs who taught BIOC 402 were very helpful. Student participation in class was encouraged (he bribed us with candy!). He can be an intimidating professor, and you really have to pay attention in class because everything is on powerpoint; but I enjoyed his lecture style.

Fair prof. Encourages students to think and ask questions. His exam questions are challenging but if one studies the course notes well enough it's easy to get a good grade. Sadowski also makes excellent use of Webct. Overall, a good guy. People who give him a poor review are probably those idiots who talk through class or don't show up.

Rude? Not my experience, but what is rude is so many people talking in the back of the class when most are trying to listen. A very interesting class overall!!

It seems like there are some sour grapes here. If you want a "textbook" and be assured of getting and A maybe you should go back to Capillano College.

Comment:
Lectures like an assault rifle on rapid fire, that is continuously saying 10 different things without any intend of stopping. Marking scheme is exteremly harsh, giving 0/10 even when your answer is half right. Many times thoughout the course he said "this concept is controversial", but those concepts ended up being on the final exam study guide.

one of the harshest markers at UBC. all or none. very rude when being asked a question, and looks down on the students and makes fun of them all the time. be prepared to be embarrassed or belittled if you have any questions from this guy.

Avoid this class at all costs. The manner in which the lectures are structured make it the most confusing class. Couple that with someone who makes you learn the basics of every little experiment, and you have a formula for disaster. To make matters worse, there's no textbook for this course either. In all honesty, this prof needs to go!!

Well.... he does make you think, but he also makes you memorize an obscene amount of material, which by the way, might be disproven in the near future. Harsh marker. I lost 30% on my assignment cuz I didn't hand in an electronic copy ontop of my hard copy!!! Also hard marking on exams... all or none, and dishes out penalties for trying.

His courses taught us to think and analyze data on our own, rather than memorize and/or accept previous work... Very valuable skills. You won't necessarily get a high mark... but that's not the point.
