Comment:

Ivana is one of the good profs at Trent. She has a lot of energy, but not in a way that is tiring to be around. Shes a fun lecturer and knows sometimes the content that she has to cover is dry so she makes an effort to be engaging as she really wants you to learn. She is very understanding of problems and will work with you if you approach her.

Ivana is the absolute best. She's quirky and not everyone is used to that, but you can't deny her amazing lectures and personality. She's caring and she really wants you to learn. If you're ever having trouble she will do anything she can to help you. I'm going to miss her class!

Comment:

One of my favourite professors at the University! Her lectures can be a bit dry in terms of content but she always does her best to make them fun. Seminars were also always very student driven and enthusiastic. Ivana would go out of her way to give you help if you needed it and you could tell she genuinely cared and loves what she does!

Oh, Ivana! I love her! She is amazing. A bit tough, so you have to work for it, but she is always accommodating and helpful. If you try, she will make sure you do well. She is funny and sweet, considerate and loves her subject! Would 10/10 take her class again. She is the reason I made it through 2nd year! Sign up for any class taught by Ivana!

The "Ivana 80"! Do all your work, meet at the requirements and it's almost guaranteed. She'll go out of her way to help you and crack jokes all the time. Truly an amazing person and an exciting prof. Readings and understanding her can be challenging but she makes up for it in keeping seminars interesting and engaging. Would always recommend her.

I love Ivana! So funny and great. Take her class if you can, she's strange and wonderful. Helped me out with many essays. She loves her students, brings snacks to seminar and is very easy going. If you go to class and make an effort, talk to her every so often, she'll remember you and love you.

Easily one of the nicest professors at Trent. She's extremely caring about her students and you can tell she wants them to reach their maximum potential. If you're honest with her, she will help you as much as she can. A lot of reading, but she makes the seminars interesting and worthwhile.

You never knew what Ivana would say next in lecture. On both exams I misunderstood the questions and almost failed the first one. However, for essays you had to complete a draft that she would mark. I received 80% on my first one and cried tears of joy. But that was after several meetings with her and lots of time in the library.

I hated missing her classes! Lectures were interesting and she has a kind heart and wants you to succeed. Will help you as much as possible, is there to teach and ensure her students learn something. Funny, intelligent, a really beautiful person!!

Best Professor I've ever had. She's a great teacher, is entusiastic about her subject, and has a great sense of humor (although it takes a while to get used to). Her use of multi-media helps greatly in class, and I would recomend her to anyone studying history. Take a class taught by Ivana before you leave Trent! You won't regret it!

Hard to understand why anyone would consider her to be hard or a poor teacher! Possibly one of the easiest profs I've ever had. Most of the students in the classes I've had with her were WAY behind in the course material, and that was on the first day. Dr.Elbl slows things down and alters lectures to help students who shouldn't have passed grade 10
