DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! Yells at you if you walk in at 9 am for THE 9 AM! Yells at you for yawning. Yells at you if your phone vibrates, but his will go off all class. Yells at you for asking "stupid" questions. Did I mention the final is so hard I got a 50% and lost my A because there are only 10 grades for the entire semester?

Do yourself a favor and do not take Professor Clarke. There are only 11 grades throughout the entire semester - 10 grades for quizzes and 1 grade for participation throughout the semester. If you attempt to participate and ask any questions, prepare to be humiliated in front of the class because he will make you feel like an idiot.

No tests, but 6 quizes in lecture and lab each. Tough grader but explains well. Easy to talk to if you have a problem. Non- mandatory attendance; also giveds you dates of quizes in syllabus.

Pessimistic and encourages you to ask questions but if you ask a "wrong" question you get ridiculed and questioned. Isn't enthusiastic and lots of quizzes. No homework and you get to use your notes which helps your grade but not if you don't do well on the quizzes. Not sure why this is a requirement class.

Just go to class and take notes. His quizzes for lectures and labs are open notes and open book. He posts previous years quizzes on Myclasses. Just need the book for the tables in the back. He is boring but is willing to answer any questions and wants people to ask or answer questions since participation is worth 10 points.

He does not go over things more than once. You ask for help, he will usually say see me after class, which if you have a class, you're screwed. Not helpful, lots of tests.

Comment:
I'm taking 301 right now and his assignments are so vague. I feel like I do a decent job on a paper and get 2030. He assigns a progress report that's "about 400 words", then later on says it's a "word limit". Maybe it's just because it's an online class, but I'm not into it. And that's all he's involved. We just read the book and take a test.

A lot of people seem to not like Dr. Clarke, however, I have taken him for two classes now and I will be doing research with him soon. Yes, he is strict, but most people are complaining that they get in trouble for things that are clearly prohibited by the syllabus or by being disrespectful. Grow up, act like an adult, focus, and you will do great

Everybody is whining about how horrible he is, when in reality people just don't want to be treated like adults or show respect. Be there a few minutes early, put your phone in your backpack, don't play around on the computer, and you'll learn a lot. Expectations are clear, quizzes are open note, and he gives practice quizzes. He's a nice guy.

I personally loved Clarke's class. He is tough. I wont lie. The class was hard. I hadn't taken any math class in over 4 years and I got a B in his class. Don't miss class, take notes, ask questions. He can explain things in different ways to help you understand. Also, ALL tests are quizzes are OPEN NOTES. Take good note and bring your calculator!!

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!Embarrasses you if you walk in 2 seconds past scheduled time, is sarcastic, makes you feel like an idiot for asking questions.Never returns emails, and has no exceptions to the rules, even in the event of death in the family. Completely ruined my semester..take someone else if you can!!

I would avoid taking his class if you can, he is a very rude and sarcastic person. He gets really upset when no one asks questions. A friend of mine was hospitalized while she was taking his class and Clarke would not let her make up any of the work that she missed.

Worst teacher that I have taken at SU. Consistently rude. Ignored my emails or replied so late that my question was irreverent. SU has many great psych teachers that make up for him so you would do well to avoid him unless you want to be cursed at for yawning or checking the time on your phone.

I'm not one to complain about poor professors, but he is one. Spends way to much time going over supporting experiments than actually explaining topics, expect 30 pages of notes for one chapter and then a 4 chapter exam with no direction in studying. Horrible with grading things in a timely manor and getting back to emails. Runs out of class after.

He really isn't that bad. This is class is the exact same thing as MATH 155. The quizes and the final were open note/textbook. Can be kinda picky with points on quizzes, but nothing major. The class is easy. Take notes and ASK QUESTIONS (participation is part of the grade). All he asks for is respect.

Worst professor I've ever had in my college academics, is not clear on teaching, takes off stupid points. I could go on but I do not recommend him at all. Do not i REPEAT register for his research methods class unless you want your gpa dropped or you are already good at stats

Horrible teacher lets you use text and notes on quiz and exams but took point off my quiz for actually showing my work. I've already taken a similar class to this and i got an A and understood mostly everything. Not in his class tho, lost at first until i started teaching myself the material. Good luck if you take him :/

If you yawn in his class and don't cover your mouth... he will stop lecture and freak out. The class itself isn't that bad - open note exams, exams from previous semesters online to study from. But if you can get another professor, it's highly suggested!
