I took his class my first quarter as a freshman in 1986! I will never forget him. He gave the whole class a signed copy of a book he had written on Eleanor Roosevelt. I still remember my final essay test for his class: name two people I had learned about that I admired and why. He is unforgettable- A real class act.

Class is very straight forward, graded on one quiz a week, attendance, and a final paper. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. He shows that he truly cares about what he is teaching and loves his job. A little cheesy, but completely genuine and hilarious.

Best class I have ever taken. He has such a passion for teaching and history that it makes every student want to learn about it. There is some reading involved but as long as you do that it is hard not to pass with a 4.0. Very willing to help students and truly enjoys interaction in class with everyone. He's the best professor I've had in college.

The class is SUPER easy as long as you do the readings. He lets you use notes on the quizzes. My class was 2 1/2 hours long but I always actually WANTED to go to this class, he made it interesting and played videos often to make class go by a little quicker. If you have the opportunity to take this class then definitely take it with him!

Probably the easiest class I've taken at EWU, there is a quiz every week but you can have a front/back page of notes. Super easy quizzes if you read. Really nice and helpful professor, genuinely cares about his students passing. No final just a paper that is at least 1,200 words long. Makes learning about history fun!!

I took this class for American History and I loved it. I hate history but he plays videos to make it not seem so long. As long as you do all the reading and show up its an easy 4.0. Youngs is always willing to help and genuinely cares about his students. if you get a chance to take a class with him do it.

Take at least one of his classes if you can. If you read the material, put in the work, and show up for class, you will do just fine with this professor. Very knowledgeable on his subject, always ready to answer questions. Can sometimes be flexible with deadlines and does give extra credit work.

Dr. Youngs taught my capstone, he pushed me really hard to expand my research capabilities. He also always gave thoughtful, helpful criticism of my writing. He was always willing to help me locate sources and has a very kind demeanor. He is one EWU professor you should take a class from before graduation.

He is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and his knowledge is so broad, if you are curious about something, ask!
