He has a very serious prejudice problem. Classes is okay because students don't know anything in the very beginning. His advise is lousy and different every time, but he blames back to students. Poor quantitative research skills but still claim he's good at them.

Kugler's a very funny and jovial guy. He's brilliant, and definitely one of the top in the field. Has a big ego though. He assigns a lot of reading and grades very aggressively on the final and midterm, but we didn't have to do a term paper. Stay away if you hate math. Stats are the only method he respects. You'll be amazed at what stats can do!

He will berate you, insult you, call you a fool, and by the time he's done, he'll have taught you more than anyone you've ever dealt with. Without question, the best in his field, and without peer. If you have a thin skin, though, stay home.

I haven't laughed my ass off in a class since Tom Borcherding's. Taking Kugler seriously is akin to taking notes at a comedy club. I mean, take all the talk of 'crapola' for instance. With Kugler, everything is crapola to some degree, even his stuff. The lesson? We're all inclined to pursue crapola as political scientists, so let's get our heads out our asses. An honest political scientist recognizes this. Besides his PP480 reconciles the disjoint between the varying inquiry methods. That's awesome!

His genius is only contained my his ego. Not only is he on the cutting edge of his field, he's one of the most sincerely kind profs I've encountered. He truly cares about his students. He's also hilarious. Try to get a copy of "Kuglerisms" translations that some students put together.
