Jacek is my favourite prof of all time. He taught the class with a lot of passion and tried to get the students interested in actually understanding calculus rather than just teaching us how to plug numbers into formulas. When the students in the class expressed difficulty with his style of lectures, he changed it up! A hard class, but a great prof

Dr. Szmigielski is a fantastic professor. Math is hard, especially if you neglected to take something as important as calculus in high school. You need to work at it. He will help you learn it if you put in the work, likely will crack some joke about Poles and zeroes along the way.

MATH 110 was very difficult. I was unable to get much out of the lectures and he was fairly difficult to follow at times. Tests are marked very harshly, partial marks are not given generously.

Jacek is a nice person who believes that he is doing a good job explaining the content of the course although he is not. He gives no good explanations of the content and next no useful examples. The lecture hall is empty because the students get less out of his lectures than learning on their own. Jacek is also very poor at prepping you for exams.

Szmigielski is such a nice guy. He liked to crack jokes and communicate with the class. If you didn't take calculus in high school , the class may be difficult. However, overall he is a wonderful teacher ! Loved the class !

He is a really nice guy but he is a terrible prof. He is a little hard to understand and his notes are confusing at the best of times. The class is hard enough for someone who didn't take calculus in high school and it is even harder when the prof cant explain the subject.

One of the friendlist persons I've ever met. That being said... One of the worst math classes ever. Very disorganised lectures. Assignments were computational in nature (assigned from the god awful textbook) but exams were more theoretical and way above anything else in the course. Course seems to be more for engineers than a proper math honours.

I really enjoy his enthusiasm! He's very engaging, focuses on important material and ensures his students understand the concepts. He genuinely cares about his students and is always available outside of class for extra help. I highly recommend him for upper-level math courses.

He was hilarious and one of the most quotable teachers I've ever had. He's a very good teacher, if you pay attention, but definately attend the labs, and don't skip classes. I found I missed one or two and it was hard to follow him with only the text book.

He was awesome! Super funny (mostly because of a language barrier - he's Polish!) and passionate about math. He got really riled up. Definitely attend the labs, and try to keep up with the daily, ungraded homework to make sure you know what's going on, but his class kept me engaged!

He is a great guy but I found his teaching style confusing and hard to understand. I only passed his class by doing well on the assignments, doing the practice exams, reading the text and watching youtube (PatrickJMT) calculus videos. You don't need to attend his class to pass BUT sometimes his board questions appear on the exams.

Is very enthusiastic about the material he teaches. I think he will eventually overload his microphone from excitement. If you just want the formula so you can apply it, don't bother with this guy. If you're into how and why math works, he's your man.

The attendance in my class is lower than 30% solely because no one understands what he is saying. I walk out of his lectures confused and I now spend my time practicing questions instead of going to his lectures as I understand the material much more.

The best math professor I have had by far. This guy knows what he's talking about and loves teaching it. Makes systems of differential equations sound like basic arithmetic. Tough class and a lot of homework but you come out feeling like you actually understand the concepts. Would definitely recommend as a prof to have in university.

Entertaining and interesting. He is an advocate for understanding the math rather than just memorizing it. Brought in extra material for interest sake and wanted his students to succeed. Overall good prof.

the prof definitely knows what he is doing and he his very funny. However, the students have a hard time understanding him. You are better off skipping the class and reading the textbk on your own.

Really liked the way he taught this class, with the weekly assignments for quick feedback. I never really understood his lectures so I learned almost fully from the text but he was helpful at times and his tests were very fair. I did well so he must have done something right.

Jacek is a fair prof. He expects alot from his students. Students that try hard in his class and that are suited to his teaching style do better in the class. He is somewhat approachable outside class. Honnestly, I did not enjoy his class. I did not mind that it was hard (b/c I like challenges), but I hated it b/c he assumed we knew the material.

Szmigielski is honestly the best math prof I've had. This class was hard, and I'm not the best at math but he did a great job making it interesting. Highly skilled, and funny guy, who is pretty down to earth.
