Her class was pretty interesting. I don't think she had a lesson plan 90% of the time, which is cool bc most of us were graduate students. We knew what we wanted to parse out. But she was definitely a hard grader too. She was fair, but she was hard.

Professor Rhodes is an amazing professor who is really knowledgeable about the subject. It is amazing how smart one person could be. I think that she doesn't really show how truly intellgent she is until you go to her office, and that's a good thing because it can be a little intimidating at times. And still, vert easy-going.

The class was better than i thought. I was dreading writing all the essays but i really enjoyed the class. She is really cool and very helpful. There was a lot of writing to do but it was enjoyable. she lets you rewrite papers for a better grade. do all the work and join the class discussions and you will get a good grade.

She knows her material, but I don't think she's genuine. There always seems to be a complication with her support. Don't get her to review your thesis. She's way too busy to give you the support you need. She doesn't respond to email, either. She just doesn't care about "some" students who are mainstream.

Dr. Rhodes and the rest of the class felt like we were a tightly nit extended family where everybody knew each other's name, there was a mature and laid back attitude that filtered out the homophobia and heterosexism into an environment where all felt comfortable. Chats were enlightening, assignments easy. Office hrs generous.

Dr. Rhodes was able to make classical rhetoric approachable. She also wove in some humor which is great. I have sought to teach classes in the same way. She is one of the Profs that inspired me to teach and continue teaching.

Prof. Rhodes made me see English from a different perspective and she is one of the reasons I became an English major. She is smart and funny and very nice. She also gives you more to think about in the readings than most profs.

Jackie is awesome. I recommend her for 609 and 658. I heard she asks for lots of papers in 611. She is very approachable and incredibly intelligent. I know professors R supposed to be smart, but Jackie is head and shoulders above most: especially in Criticism. I also like that she's not as mean toward the conservatives as most college professors.
