Even though Dr. Saniie says he is available 100% of the time outside the class and that he will put his students before anyone else, the reality is that the usual waiting time to see him is around 60 to 90 minutes. Regarding ECE441, it's a course about 1970's electronics. A big 90% of the things he teaches has changed and are not useful anymore.

old-school professor but awesome...expects you to read up on the material and learn it...rewards the students that do so...he is excellent at his craft...exams are hard but if you study hard you can get a good grade...not too approachable but again, he is old-school...kinda funny guy in his own quirky way

To me Prof Saniie is the best ECE IIT has to offer. While I heard many criticisms, for those of us that are focused on engineering this man is a legend, and not just due to the 80s computer he uses. His class goes deep into the WHY? of what you're doing and will prepare you for actual design work. He will kick people out of office to help you learn

Remember that Saniie has a design problem in every exam that deals with the most recent topics discussed in class. You really have to pay attention in class to do well on the exams, and this is hard to say when most of his classes he teaches are late at night and for 3 hours, but it pays off.

his lectures were about 3 weeks behind the subjects in lab and his tests were only difficult b/c he was so vague. Lab was alright class was a waste of everyone's time. It was almost insulting.

cant even teach 1980s material right. And has taught this class so many times that his notes from last semester/year are *EXACTLY* the same as the current semester. Resembelence is scary. So dont go to class. Labs and exams are based on last year's so can skip class for that too. This class does spew design decesions for computer in the 80s. Period

DON'T TAKE HIM FOR 446. NOT A GOOD IDEA. TAKE ECE 429 INSTEAD. YOU WILL LEARN MUCH MORE STUFF THAN HIS CLASS. they need to update their 441 class to reflect motorola's new generation processors or soemthign new for that matter. stop teaching us about soemthign that is from the 80s.yea give us an intro for clarity sake n then move on to newer stuff
