My advice: Keep really good notes. Studying your notes will keep you from failing his class. He's not easy to deal with in class and not as helpful as you would like him to be. It may be best to network with fellow students in class before the exams. I needed this class to graduate and after busting my chops, I got a C for the class.

He is very boring and not helpful--bad personality. But if you study his notes VERY well, you'll do fine. I got an A in his class not because of him but from understanding his notes very well. So, if you need someone who can stimulate your interest in the subject, don't take him. If you can learn from your own reading of notes, he's OK.

GOOD TEACHER, HIS NOTES WERE VERY CLEAR! THE MID TERM AND FINAL IS REALLY EASY IF STUDY FOR IT. BAD THING IS THAT HE DOES NOT USE A BOOK, BUT ON THE GOOD SIDE YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANOTHER BOOK. First of all, his class is NOT hard. If he makes it hard, it would have been even worst for his reputation since he is not helpful at all. Very boring, too much theory not practice! He is an excellent teacher. He does not use a text book, so you need to attend class and take clear notes. He grades only based on his tests, homework is assigned but not collected, which I loved. The tests are based 100% on the homework problems and classroom problems. If you show up and pay attention you will learn.

Oh my god...his class was a joke. Even though i passed his class with a B, i didnt learn anything. he doesn't go according to the book. All you do in class is take his stupid notes and copy down his math questions, which he made up. After he finish his lecture, he ask students if there are any questions and he be mean when answering questions.

Yeah, he doesn't use a book, you may or may not like that. NOTE: His exams come from his notes, but he is extremely picky on how he grades. He'll take off many points for small errors, eg. not writing equal sign over again. Kind of hard to understand and does not hear well cause he's old. Very much into proofs. Very very strict professor!

I would not recommend him. His notes are ok, but since he does not use a book, you do not get a chance to do many hwk problems and check your solution. I think the fact that I did not do a variety of hwk problems in trigonometry did not provide for a good retention of the concepts.
