Prof Aitken is the best prof I've had to date. He's not out to get you, he wants you to pass. 3 exams including the final, 5 quizzes he hands you the answers to. 2 projects, but if you go to his office hours he will give you Loads of help. 5 points for attempting the daily homework. Would take again in a heartbeat

Uncle Jim is really nice and helpful and has funny stories to tell. you teach yourself the material then he discusses material later. Have to go to class for participation points which hurt you if you dont go. 5 total quizzes which were very easy. 2 projects. Homework every class, but it is do-able. overall would recommend him. Need textbook!!

He is a great professor because he really understands how to empathize with the students. He makes a really boring subject kind of interesting if you always go to class. I would definitely recommend him.

He was a great teacher. He's hard on his students at times in terms of the fact that he would yell at the class about attendance and overall effort. However, you could tell that he only did that because he genuinely cared about the success of his students. His office doors are always open and he is great at explaining things in a graspable manner.

I want to be an accounting major; but this guy does not know how to teach. every class period it is the same thing every class; he goes over the homework from the night before by calling on students and then give ya homework for next class. I would prefer more hands on activities so I could practice in class instead of him talking the whole hour.

I'd highly recommend Uncle Jim! I've never taken accounting and he makes this class very clear on what he wants you to learn. He provides notes and pre-lecture questions so you can go into class knowing what he'll cover. Exams arent the easiest, but go to class and do all the hw to get 'free points' and you will pass with no problem!

Professor Aitken is an absolute must have for students who only need to get Accounting out of the way and get a general understanding. I am not fond of math classes whatsoever and my GPA reflects that but with this class and this teacher I easily passed with no problems. He is a great teacher and truly does it right. Go to class, you'll do fine.

Really nice guy. He knows his stuff. I think he was an accountant for like 40 some years. Always has the best interest of the students. Make sure you come and do your homework because he likes to call on his students randomly and make them work for their participation points. Very accessible with his office hours. I recommend him.

This class was very easy. If you go to class and do the online homework and the before lecture questions you will get an A. Also go to his office hours if you need help. Last thing attended his classes he does questions and you get daily points if you answer the question correctly, he will help you if you don't have the right answer.

He changed to the Socratic method this semester. Calls on you and if you don't know the answer, be prepared to "work for it" and be potentially embarrassed. Lots of busy work that did not help me one bit. Not the hardest class in the world, but it was annoying most of the time.

Have to do homework every night for this class, and it's just busy work. His tests are near impossible and no matter how much I studied I couldn't do good on them. He does nor prepare you for the online homework or for the tests. Don't take him!!

Buy the book. No way around it. Online homework which tells you the answer, but exams and projects are murder. You HAVE to put in work and time if you want to do well. HAVE TO. Not recommended.

This class was my hardest class so far in my college career. He is a nice guy but if you don't know anything about accounting this class will be really difficult for you. He doesn't give a any examples and isn't very good at actually teaching accounting.

He calls himself Uncle Jim. He is a cute & funny 70 year old man. He basically makes notes for dummies for each chapter and then gives exam reviews that tell you exactly what questions will be asked on the exam. Projects take 2 seconds to do and are worth a good amount of points Homework is online- and you can check your answers before you submit.

I had to re-take this course and Prof. Aitken made the process MUCH easier! He is very helpfull, he is funny, and he understands that ACC is a subject that students struggle with. He prints out lecture notes and hands them out before class, he does the homework just like the students do to see what its like, hands out study guides before every te
