Comment:

One of the laziest professors at this school. Class is a breeze if you have had solidworks before. Class isnt hard but the expectations are not clear and you will suffer on the tests if you neglect to know what he wants you to do. Does not return anything in a timely matter. Midterm took 4 weeks to get returned. Would not recommend him to anyone.

Comment:

Uses the textbook as a tool and not the primary backbone of the class. He knows how to do the problems and can explain them in multiple ways with multiple methods. Find a buddy to do the homework with and ask for help when you get stuck. If you do this you should do ok.

Comment:

Yes he's monotone, but he's very clear in expectations and instructions. Just make sure he's not your first class of the day and you should be able to stay awake. Eng modeling and design is a pretty easy class by nature. If you follow instructions closely and listen, its an easy A. Take him over any of the others teaching this class.

Seems to me that having a class with Almquist is unavoidable. He is very easy to understand, but has a monotone voice that kind of drones on. Which makes it both hard and easy to understand him. His in class example make the homework easy, and you can use notes on tests and partners and notes on quizzes.

Good teacher, but it gets a little difficult to stay wake in his class sometimes. Especially with his monotone voice. He also is sort of hard on grading for homework assignments, but he makes the class pretty easy to pass.

He's could clarify his homework assignments more and use a better grader, but he's helpful and willing to correct mistakes. He seems antisocial, but he's willing to talk if you try to start up a conversation and won't shut you out. He also has office hours for help/clarification. Good professor.

He is very tall,monotone voice..but always willing to help and if u do all the hw the test are easy..i had no trouble getting an A maybe even a A plus (i'm still in the class). but there is a lot of assignments, which makes him i guess more difficult than the other teachers. its not that hard-go to class & do hw

Like others have said, he's a really big guy with a really low voice. His lectures can get a little boring, but he's very good at teaching. Very helpful in office hours and in class, allways willing to help. Is also my advisor, huge help to me there.

Good points: He shows a lot of examples, exams are similar from year to year, easy to talk to and always helped. Bad Points: Class lecture boring and long (around 1.25 hours, did nothing but talk during lecture.

I'm not sure if it was the class, the professor, or a combination but it was very boring. a lot of busy work that is very easy but time consuming. He doesn't seem to ever be prepared for class, just comes in and wings it.
